Job summary

GreenPoint Ag is seeking a Full-Time Sales Representative for Magnolia, MS. You will sell seed, crop protection products, and related services to growers and dealers in your territory, while maintaining profitability and adhering to credit guidelines.

You’ll build direct relationships with growers, promote soil testing and farm management services, and support location staff during peak season. A strong agronomic background and a valid driver’s license are required.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in agriculture or related industry, preferably in sales/management.
• Bachelor's degree in Agronomy or related field preferred; may offset with farm training.
• Valid driver’s license; must be able to meet a Motor Vehicle Review.

Responsibilities

• Sell seeds, crop protection products, nutrients and services to growers/dealers in the assigned territory.
• Directly contact growers to promote GreenPoint AG products and services such as soil testing and farm management economics.
• Assist location staff during peak season to maximize product movement and service levels.
• Develop plans with assigned accounts to meet their needs and grow sales.
• Utilize all tools to facilitate sales growth and exceed customer expectations.
• Administer the approved credit policy and collect receivables.
• Ensure operations comply with environmental, health and safety protocols.
• Establish credibility as an agronomic advisor to customers.

We are looking for aFull-TimeSales Representative for our Magnolia, MS Retail Agriculture Location. Our culture fosters a connected work environment where employees are engaged, supported, and provided opportunities to grow.

Summary/Objective

Responsible for selling seed, crop protection products, crop nutrients and related services to grower and dealer customers in assigned sales territory to achieve maximum profitability while operating within approved sales and credit guidelines.

Essential Functions

• Executes location’s sales plan for Seed, CN and CPP in assigned sales territory directly to grower and dealer customers assuring maximum sales volume and profitability of GreenPoint AG products
• Contacts growers directly to promote the acceptance and sale of GreenPoint AG products and services such as soil testing, plant analysis, farm management economics, bulk fertilizer application, pesticide spraying and crop yield evaluation.
• During the peak season, provides assistance to location personnel in all phases of the business to effect maximum product movement, product sold and optimum services to grower and dealer customers.
• Works closely with assigned accounts to identify their needs and develops plans to fulfill those needs
• Learns to utilize all tools available to facilitate sales growth, enhance customer service customer and exceed customer expectations
• Administers the approved credit policy consistently and is responsible for the collection of customer receivables
• Ensures all areas operate within established environmental, health and safety protocols
• Maintains a high level of technical expertise to establish themselves as a reliable and credible source for agronomic and Ag business advice
• Embody GreenPoint Ag Vision, Mission, Values, and Goals in daily work, contributing to a strong company culture
• No direct supervision of others. May provide direction to other individuals.

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in the agriculture industry or other related industry preferred, ideally in a sales or management role
• Bachelor’s Degree in Agronomy, Entomology, Ag Business or other related agricultural training (preferred); may be offset with Farm/agricultural training with some college/associates degree
• Valid driver’s license; must be able to meet a Motor Vehicle Review in accordance with Company policy

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Persuasive selling skills and excellent interpersonal skills necessary in maintaining long term customer relations
• Must be innovative and self-motivated; needs to have a passion for the business and a willingness to learn
• As an agronomic seller, must have a strong mental fortitude and be persistent
• Ability to communicate with associates and customers
• Ability to read, count, and write to accurately complete all documentation

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in an office setting. Exposure to outdoor and unconditioned warehouse conditions, including extreme temperatures, humidity, noise, vibration, atmospheric conditions, and workplace hazards is occasional. Proper use of personal protective equipment in such conditions is required.

Regular use of the telephone and e-mail for communication constant and essential. Sitting for extended periods and the use of hands and fingers is common. Hearing and vision within normal ranges is helpful for normal conversations, to receive ordinary information and to prepare or inspect documents.

Lifting and carrying of 50+ lbs. may occasionally be required. While performing the duties of this job, good manual dexterity for the use of common office equipment such as computer terminals, calculator, and copiers is needed. The employee is occasionally required to walk, climb, balance, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl.

Travel

In territory approximately 60%, outside territory approximately 5%
