Job description

The Sales Representative is responsible for establishing and maintaining relationships with customers to facilitate business growth and profitability. In addition, the Sales Representative manages accounts and/or product line(s) to align with critical sales activities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement effective sales strategies to achieve and exceed revenue targets
  • Collaborate with Marketing to ensure the sales team has quality leads to pursue
  • Evaluate sales practices and procedures to determine whether they are effective in generating sales and adjust as necessary
  • Recommend and implement improvements to current sales practices and procedures as needed
  • Address and resolve customer complaints that are escalated
  • Develop and maintain an effective step-by-step process of nurturing leads and closing sale
  • Utilize market analysis tools to determine customer behavior, market trends, and competitor activity
  • Communicate and coordinate as needed with Sales on any product issues and requests that require immediate action and/or resolution
  • Notify customers of supplier, product, and documentation changes via appropriate communication platforms (e-mail, fax, telephone, etc.)
  • Identify key sales activities you will directly participate in and take ownership of which may include strategic accounts and/or strategic product lines to align with the most critical sales activities
  • Support and lead by example, Barentz’ culture, values, and fundamentals
  • Participate in ongoing professional development opportunities and ensure the same for direct reports
  • Be flexible and open to adjusting your approach based on the evolving needs of your team, the market, and business
  • Perform other duties as requested
Required Education, Experience, Knowledge and Skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business administration, business management, or related field and/or experience required
  • Proven track record of success in sales, preferably within a related industry
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams, and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships
  • Good judgment and professionalism when dealing with customers, suppliers, and internal team members
  • Detail oriented with sound analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong organization skills with the ability to work in a fast paced, deadline driven environment
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and balance workload to meet new business requirements
  • Ability to negotiate win-win situations
  • Self-motivated, high energy, and engaging level of enthusiasm and positive outlook
