  • Greet customers, assess needs, demonstrate trucks, and arrange test drives.
  • Close deals, prepare paperwork, and collect deposits following dealership policies.
  • Coordinate with service to ensure proper reconditioning and delivery to customers.
  • Maintain owner follow-up system to drive repeat and referral business.

SUMMARY of Used Truck SalesVanguard Truck Centers is looking for the proactive Used Truck sales person that is passionate about growing sales and has a passion for growing and developing within the company. This position is responsible for selling used heavy and medium duty trucks while achieving and maintaining appropriate levels of gross profit, unit count objective, and customer satisfaction.ESSENTIAL DUTIES of Used Truck SalesEssential Duties include the following. Other duties may be assigned.Satisfies the transportation needs of used-truck Sales purchasers.Approaches, greets, and offers assistance or direction to any customer who enters the dealership showroom or sales lot.Assists customers in selecting a vehicle by asking questions and listening carefully to their responses. Suggests alternative tractors/truck if necessary.Exhibits a high level of commitment to customer satisfaction.Understands the terminology of the truck business and keeps abreast of changes in product technology, incoming inventory, features, accessories, etc.Provides thorough product information and demonstration to all prospects.Offers test drives to all prospects. Follows dealership procedure to obtain proper identification from customer before test drive begins.Closes used truck deals.Writes complete and accurate sales orders, secures deposits, and processes paperwork in accordance with established dealership policies.Appraises used trucks when necessary.Collects accurate and complete financial data on customers when necessary.Delivers used trucks, explaining used truck warranty, as-is disclosure statement, and service policies.Utilizes dealership prospect development and follow-up system.Uses all reasonable methods of prospecting for used truck customers on a daily basis by telephone.Prepares and turns in to the UTM outside sales call reports, listing who was called, what units were quoted, and units available for sale, if applicable.Knows and understands the federal, state, and local laws which govern retail commercial truck sales.Establishes personal income goals that are consistent with dealership standards of productivity, and devises a strategy to meet those goals.Knows and understands equity and values, and is able to explain depreciation to the customer.Turns 100% of closed deals to F&I manager and presents properly completed paperwork (i.e. insurance information, trade title, etc.)Works with the service department to ensure that trucks are properly reconditioned on schedule.Prepares sold trucks for delivery (i.e. cleans truck, ensures reconditioning has been completed properly, and ensures all features are operational) prior to customers arrival.Delivers trucks to customers, ensuring that the customer understands the trucks operation features, warranty, and paperwork.Introduces customers to service department personnel to emphasize to them the quality and efficiency of service repairs and maintenance available in the dealerships service department.Follows up on all post-delivery items, tag/title work, we-owes, and special requests to be sure that all customer expectations are met.Maintains an owner follow-up system that encourages repeat and referral business and contributes to customer satisfaction (Cal-Pro)Attends sales meetings.Helps with the used truck inspection process.Maintains a professional business appearance.Reviews and analyzes actions at the end of each day, week, month, and year to determine how to better utilize time and plans more effectively.Qualifications to perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
