Job summary

KLN Family Brands in Perham, MN is hiring a Sales Order Specialist for the Tuffy's Pet Foods facility. This onsite role supports purchase order management, admin tasks, system usage, and project coordination to assist the Customer Service team.

You will work with Tuffy's Treat Company and Tuffy's Pet Foods, handling orders from request to delivery, verifying details, entering data in customer systems, and collaborating with sales, production, and transportation to keep orders moving.

Qualifications

• Accurate data entry skills with strong attention to detail.
• Strong organizational skills; ability to follow through on details and deadlines.
• Knowledge of Excel and Word; PowerPoint helpful.

Responsibilities

• Manage purchase order and administrative work within customer-specific systems, keeping information accurate.
• Generate and distribute inventory and production reports to customers, providing visibility into availability and status.
• Troubleshoot customer questions and order issues by coordinating with internal partners to identify solutions and communicate updates.
• Track purchase orders and coordinate with sales, production, customer service, and transportation to support order movement.
• Support co-manufacturing coordination as needed, aligning customer expectations with production needs.
• Identify opportunities to improve order management processes and team communication.

Compensation

• All in hourly compensation: $21.22 - $24.22/hr
  • Base Pay: $20.00-$23.00/hr
  • Sign on Bonus: $1.22/hr worked
• Profit Sharing Eligibility: Begins after completing 1 year of employment ($7.7 Million in Profits Paid to Profit Sharing Pool in 2025)

The Opportunity

This position supports purchase order management, administrative tasks, system usage, and project coordination to help the Customer Service team stay efficient and organized. The individual will work in Perham and support customers for both Tuffy's Treat Company and Tuffy's Pet Foods.

Day in the Life

A day in the life of this role is active, hands-on, and highly impactful. This person plays an important part in helping customer orders move smoothly from request to delivery by working with purchase orders, verifying details for accuracy, entering and maintaining information in customer-specific systems, and responding to questions as needs come up. The role brings together customers, sales, production, packaging, transportation, and the customer service team to help solve problems, clarify requests, and keep everyone aligned. From pulling inventory and production reports to following up on shipping updates, order changes, and co-manufacturing details, this position helps turn moving pieces into clear next steps. Essential Duties

• Generate and distribute inventory and production reports to customers, helping provide visibility into product availability and production status.
• Troubleshoot customer questions and order-related issues by coordinating with internal partners to identify solutions and communicate timely updates.
• Track purchase orders and coordinate with sales, production, customer service, and transportation to support efficient order movement.
• Support co-manufacturing coordination as needed, helping align customer expectations with production needs.
• Identify opportunities to improve order management processes, communication flow, and team organization.

Job Qualifications

• Accurate data entry skills with strong attention to detail.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to follow through on details, meet deadlines, and keep information moving between teams.
• Computer skills or strong ability to learn computer skills - specifically Excel and Word; knowledge of PowerPoint helpful.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to build trust with customers and internal partners.
• Able to manage multiple priorities, stay organized, and shift focus as customer and production needs change.
• Knowledge of basic office equipment.
• Associate degree or equivalent experience in customer service, production, or a manufacturing environment preferred.
• 0-2 years of customer communication, sales support, customer service, or related administrative experience; manufacturing company exposure is a plus.
• Entry-level candidates will be considered if they demonstrate strong communication skills, attention to detail, ambition, coachability, and a willingness to learn in a fast-paced team environment.
