Job summary

SLB New Energy & Industrial is seeking a motivated Sales Order Planner to support Data Center infrastructure solutions. The role focuses on aligning customer requirements with project schedules, production capacity, and material availability through proactive communication with Project Management, Procurement, and Manufacturing teams.

You will monitor orders, assess delivery risks, and coordinate with multiple departments to ensure on-time delivery and continuous improvement in planning

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, SCM, Business, Economics, or related field.
  • Minimum of three years in production planning, sales order planning, or supply chain.
  • Working knowledge of SAP or a comparable ERP system.
  • APICS certification preferred but not required.
  • Clear and effective communicator with strong English fluency.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure sales order dates align with project schedules and customer requirements.
  • Monitor order status from release through shipment and delivery.
  • Prioritize orders based on project needs and objectives.
  • Identify delivery risks related to capacity, material shortages, or changes.
  • Develop and maintain delivery risk assessments for projects.
  • Escalate schedule impacts and recommend recovery plans.
  • Provide routine updates on delivery commitments and milestones.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to balance priorities.
  • Support demand and capacity planning activities.
  • Develop dashboards to improve visibility of delivery risks and orders.

SLB is seeking a motivated Sales Order Planner to support our Data Center infrastructure solutions business.

The Sales Order Planner is responsible for managing customer sales orders from order entry through delivery execution while ensuring alignment between customer requirements, project schedules, production capacity, and material availability. The role serves as a key communication link between Project Management, Production Planning, Procurement, Manufacturing, and Logistics to proactively identify and mitigate delivery risks.

A primary responsibility of this position is to maintain regular communication with Project Management regarding medium- and long-term delivery commitments, schedule constraints, capacity limitations, material shortages, and any risks that could impact customer milestones.

Job Duties/Responsibilities
Sales Order Management
  • Ensure sales order dates are aligned with project schedules, production plans, and customer requirements.
  • Monitor order status from release through shipment and delivery completion.
  • Coordinate order prioritization based on project needs and business objectives.
Delivery Risk Management
  • Identify medium- and long-term delivery risks related to capacity, material shortages, engineering changes, supplier constraints, or production delays.
  • Develop and maintain delivery risk assessments for assigned projects and product lines.
  • Escalate potential schedule impacts in a timely manner and recommend recovery plans.
  • Track risk mitigation actions through closure.
Project Management Communication
  • Serve as the primary planning interface between Supply Chain and Project Management teams.
  • Provide routine updates on delivery commitments, forecasted completion dates, and schedule performance.
  • Communicate potential impacts to project milestones and customer deliveries.
  • Participate in project review meetings and support schedule alignment discussions.
  • Ensure project managers have accurate and current information regarding delivery status and risks.
Planning and Forecasting
  • Support demand planning and capacity planning activities.
  • Analyze backlog, forecast demand, and production constraints to support delivery commitments.
  • Collaborate with Production Planning to balance customer priorities and manufacturing capacity.
  • Monitor key performance indicators related to on-time delivery and backlog management.
Cross-Functional Coordination
  • Work closely with Procurement, Manufacturing, Engineering, Logistics, and Customer Service teams to support successful order execution.
  • Coordinate actions required to resolve shortages, schedule conflicts, or customer delivery issues.
  • Facilitate communication across departments to ensure alignment on priorities and commitments.
Continuous Improvement
  • Support initiatives that improve delivery performance, planning accuracy, and customer satisfaction.
  • Develop reports and dashboards to improve visibility of delivery risks and order status.

Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business, Economics, or a related field.
  • Minimum of three years of experience in production planning, sales order planning, supply chain, or a related area.
  • Working knowledge of SAP or a comparable enterprise resource planning system.
  • APICS certification is preferred but not required.
  • Clear and effective communicator, able to convey complex concepts in both individual and group settings.
  • Fluent in English, with advanced written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future visa sponsorship.
