Job description

The Sales Operations Manager will be a hands-on leadership role, overseeing and supporting our customer service team and lead our inside sales efforts. This role will accelerate the growing impact the group is having with our customers, our sales process and our results. This position will report to the Director, Commercial NA and play a key leadership role executing sales initiatives, driving revenue growth, as well as process improvement and the build out of key resources to support the commercial team.

Job Duties:

  • Leads the daily operations of our customer service team.
  • Provides ongoing coaching, training and development opportunities to the team.
  • Evaluate, identify and implement opportunities to define processes and metrics to guide daily sales administration.
  • Create the future vision and roadmap for the group, ensuring efficient sales operations and a growing impact on revenue.
  • Serve as the lead for sales administration, working cross functionally across Trivium internal teams, to support efficiency in our production operations, including, but not limited to production scheduling and inventory management.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to deliver best in class service and champion unmatched industry customer experience.
  • Enhance sales productivity through identifying opportunities for process improvement.
  • Partner with and support the commercial team as required on key accounts.
  • Partner with Commercial leadership and Beverage sales managers to develop opportunities for beverage strategy improvements, including streamlining the planning process to enhance the customer experience.
  • Manage customer engagement of accounts assigned to the team.
  • Collaborate with IT on any system changes and act as commercial lead, communicating any commercial needs for smooth implementation.
  • Support customer journey optimization strategy.
  • As assigned, manage day-to-day relationships with existing customers.
  • Participate in weekly commercial team and other internal team calls.
  • Lead cross functional Operations Calls, providing relevant updates to commercial team and internal stakeholders to ensure timely communication and streamlined workflow.
  • Ensures assignments meet established standards and deadlines.
  • Authority to stop and/or modify work processes due to non-conformance and/or unsafe working conditions.
  • Report all potential food safety concerns to the quality assurance manager.
  • Perform all other job duties as assigned.

As Needed:

  • Lead special projects.
  • Assist in preparation of reporting and presentations.
  • Participate in industry events and trade shows.
  • Identify and attend relevant professional development training.
  • Travel to customer sites for meetings.

Qualifications and Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree plus 5+ years of successful sales management and leadership experience.
  • Positive attitude, strong work ethic, excellent interpersonal and team management skills.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to build strong relationships across multiple functions within customer and Trivium organization.
  • Experience of working in Sales, Commercial, or Brand Marketing in, or with, leading CPG companies is preferred.
  • Experience in customer collaboration and joint business planning - how to work with customers to drive profitable growth and formulate business solutions based on customer insights.
  • History of delivering customer value, working as a trusted advisor with clients.
  • Understand how aluminum packaging drives growth for customers in ‘path to purchase’ and through design & innovation.
  • Ability to drive customer focus with key stakeholders at all levels within our organization.
  • Experience of leading and coaching people.
  • Demonstrated competence in the use of software tools for data analysis and presentation (e.g., Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Proficiency in Salesforce, a plus, but not required.

This position will be based out of the Youngstown, OH manufacturing facility. The position will require travel to client sites and to the production facilities as needed. This position will use a computer, cellphone and other office equipment to perform the job successfully.
