Job summary

Cambridge Computer in Waltham, MA, is seeking a Sales Operations & Support specialist to maintain daily sales workflows, ensure data integrity, and support revenue activities across the team. The position blends operational tasks with opportunities to master analytics and processes.

You will write quotes, manage statements of work, coordinate meetings, and cultivate relationships with vendors while leveraging CRMs and spreadsheets to drive accuracy and efficiency in a hybrid work environment.

Qualifications

  • University undergraduate degree required; Business Administration, Data Analytics, STEM, or related fields preferred.
  • Baseline understanding of computer hardware, software, and the IT ecosystem.
  • Hybrid office model work ability with strong self-management and reliability.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, organizational skills, and clear written and verbal communication.
  • Ability to multitask, meet deadlines, and execute detailed operational processes.
  • Proficiency with spreadsheets (Excel/Google Sheets) and familiarity with CRMs or database entry.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Relationship Sales Managers on daily tasks.
  • Perform product and technology research on hardware, software, and services offerings.
  • Write quotes, build proposals, and manage statements of work to maximize profit.
  • Communicate with vendors and clients.
  • Coordinate online meetings, technical demonstrations, and conferences.
  • Manage sales and order logistics.
  • Recommend products and upsell solutions to vendors and clients.
  • Populate and maintain Cambridge's CRM with accurate data.
  • Handle vendor partner administration and track deliverables.
  • Serve as liaison between corporate, sales teams, and remote staff.
  • Build familiarity with vendors in our solution stack (Cisco, NVIDIA, Dell, HPe, IBM, Lenovo, VMware, and more).
  • Understand trends in storage, networking, data protection, digital archiving, and other infrastructure technologies.
  • Understand and execute goals of corporate and sales management.

Job Overview

The Cambridge Sales Operations & Support role is a vital position dedicated to maintaining seamless daily sales administrative workflows, ensuring data integrity, and providing reliable execution across our revenue support function. By taking ownership of critical operational, logistical, and transactional tasks, this role provides high-value individual contribution to our day-to-day business while offering a dedicated track for long-term mastery within our Sales Operations function.

Responsibilities and Duties
  • Collaborate with Relationship Sales Managers in daily tasks:
    • Perform product and technology research on hardware, software, and services offerings.
    • Write quotes, build proposals, and manage statements of work in a manner that maximizes company profit.
    • Communicate with vendors and clients.
    • Coordinate online meetings, technical demonstrations, and conferences.
    • Manage sales and order logistics.
    • Recommend products and upsell solutions to vendors and clients.
    • Populate and maintain Cambridge's client relationship management (CRM) tools with accurate and timely information.
  • Participate in Marketing & Customer Service activities:
    • Handle vendor partner administration, tracking partner deliverables and operational requests.
    • Serve as a reliable operational liaison between the corporate office, sales teams, and remote staff.
  • Support Cambridge initiatives:
    • Build functional familiarity of the vendors we use in our solution stack. This includes Cisco, NVIDIA, Dell, HPe, IBM, Lenovo, VMWare, and many others.
    • Build familiarity of trends in storage, networking, data protection, digital archiving, and other infrastructure technologies.
    • Understand solutions including high performance computing, subject matter expertise in machine learning, artificial intelligence, bioinformatics, and life sciences among others.
    • Understand and execute corporate and sales management's goals and objectives.
Qualifications
  • University undergraduate degree required. Business Administration, Data Analytics, STEM, or related fields preferred.
  • Baseline understanding of computer hardware, software, and the general IT ecosystem.
  • Ability to work effectively in a hybrid office model, demonstrating strong self-management, reliability, and focus when working independently.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and clear written and verbal communication.
  • Ability to multitask efficiently, meet deadlines, and consistently execute detailed operational processes.
  • Proficiency with spreadsheets (e.g., Excel/Google Sheets) and familiarity with CRMs or database entry is a strong plus.
