Job description

The Sales Merchandiser is responsible for driving in-store sales, maintaining optimal product displays, ensuring stock availability, and supporting promotional activities across assigned retail supermarket outlets. This role acts as a key liaison between the company and retail partners, with the goal of improving product visibility and achieving sales targets.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Sales and Performance

  • Achieve monthly and weekly sales targets and KPIs.
  • Track and report sales performance for each outlet.
  • Propose initiatives to increase sell-through and visibility.
  • Upsell and introduce new products to outlet buyers and in-store staff.
  • Conduct competitor checks and share insights with the Sales/Marketing team.

2. Retail Merchandising

  • Ensure all products are well-stocked, clean, and displayed according to brand guidelines.
  • Arrange products to optimize shelf space and eye-level placement.
  • Set up promotional displays, signages, shelf-talkers, and sampling booths where applicable.
  • Coordinate with store managers on stock replenishment and returns.

3. Outlet Visits

  • Visit assigned retail outlets on a daily/weekly schedule.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with store staff and floor managers.
  • Conduct routine checks to ensure planogram compliance and promotional execution.
  • Report any in-store issues (e.g., damaged packaging, price discrepancies).

4. Stock Management

  • Ensure sufficient inventory is available on shelves and backrooms.
  • Work with the warehouse or delivery team to request stock replenishment.
  • Perform basic stock take and submit inventory reports when required.

5. Marketing and Promotion

  • Support in-store promotions, events, and product launches.
  • Brief and train promoters or temporary staff if assigned.
  • Collect customer feedback and market intelligence during in-store engagements.

6. Administrative Duties

  • Submit daily reports, photos of displays, and outlet feedback to HQ.
  • Prepare summary reports of outlet visits and sales trends.
  • Keep accurate records of merchandising efforts and store visits.

Requirements:

• At least 3 years of experience in sales, retail merchandising, or FMCG.

• Able to travel islandwide and work independently.

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

• Sales-driven, proactive, and well-organized.

• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel/Google Sheets and reporting tools.

• Physically fit and able to handle product displays and light lifting.
