The U.S. is its leading market, with strong growth potential. Distributed exclusively through Kravet, Métaphores is featured in 24 showrooms, including 8 shop-in-shops. The brand blends heritage craftsmanship from Verel de Belval and Le Crin with modern artistry, using carefully selected materials and sustainable practices to reduce environmental impact.
This position is based onsite in our New York, NY Corporate Office.
Role
- Job title: Sales Manager for the West Coast and Contract Projects
- Lead initiatives to engage interior designers and initiate impactful projects within the design community
- Support showrooms and a team of sales representatives in collaboration with our exclusive U.S. and Canada agent
- Ensure excellence in brand knowledge, operational execution, and sales performance
Responsibilities
- Oversee the performance and growth of all showrooms and agents within the territory; consistently aim to exceed sales targets and identify new opportunities
- Conduct market visits aligned with the annual calendar, engaging during key brand moments and fostering relationships with partners and clients
- Develop and execute a regional strategy to motivate and engage agents, showrooms, and clients; identify key architects and designers as prospects
- Negotiate with agents to enhance Métaphores’ visibility and revenue across the territory
- Lead and expand contract project initiatives across the United States and Canada, collaborating with agents and the operations team in France
- Prepare and share weekly/monthly sales reports; analyze KPIs and identify performance improvements
- Gather field insights to inform new initiatives and stay ahead of market trends
- Manage client requests and order processing with timely, cross-functional communication
Training & Brand Ambassador
- Serve as a brand ambassador for the region; train and inspire the sales teams of agents with focus on Métaphores’ heritage, creativity, and product offerings
- Distribute commercial tools to partners, including fabric samples, imagery, brand materials, and price lists
- Maintain deep product knowledge, values, and operational processes to foster an engaged partner community
Visual Merchandising & Events
- Ensure exceptional presentation of collections in showrooms; review displays and materials during field visits
- Roll out new collections across showrooms and retail corners; ensure consistency and impact
- Develop a regional calendar of events and activations for key collection launches
- Identify design events aligned with brand values to enhance visibility and participation
- Represent the brand at international and local events
Budget & Planning
- Maintain a structured travel and expense budget and calendar; plan strategic field visits
- Monitor regional budgets; analyze spend and ROI to optimize performance
About You / Qualifications
- 3–5 years of sales experience, ideally in multi-account management, trade, or field roles
- Background in interior design or the high-end home sector strongly preferred
- Proven commercial acumen with exceptional networking and communication skills
- Strong understanding of industry trends and competitive landscape with strategic insights
- Creative, adaptable, solution-oriented mindset; collaborative and proactive
- Self-starter with integrity and a track record of identifying and converting opportunities
- Excellent presentation and public speaking abilities; highly organized with attention to detail
- Technologically proficient; advanced skills in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel; familiarity with design software is a plus
- Fluency in English essential; French required; Spanish is a plus
- Willing to travel regularly, approximately 50% of the time
Compensation
The range for this position is $96,707 - $114,289 annually. Actual rates are determined based on the job, location, and individual experience.
