GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB

The Sales Manager, Health & Nutrition is responsible for driving new business growth for CSL USA across the North American market. This is a highly proactive, results-driven sales role with a primary focus on identifying, developing, and converting new customers and opportunities. The ideal candidate is a hunter who thrives on building a pipeline, opening doors, developing new relationships, and converting opportunities into profitable revenue. This individual will actively pursue opportunities across probiotics, contract manufacturing services, fermentation services, human health and nutrition. A secondary focus of the position will be identifying and developing business opportunities in pet nutrition, agro-vet applications, and emerging technologies involving microbial cultures and related capabilities. Success in this position will be measured by the ability to consistently generate qualified opportunities, advance projects through the sales pipeline, acquire new customers, and deliver sustainable revenue and profitability growth.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The following statements describe the major responsibilities of this position and are not intended to represent every duty that may be required.

New Business Development & Revenue Growth
  • Proactively identify, target, and develop new customers and business opportunities throughout North America.
  • Build and maintain a strong pipeline of qualified opportunities capable of delivering short- and long-term revenue growth.
  • Consistently prospect through outbound calls, email, networking, industry events, referrals, LinkedIn, and other business-development channels.
  • Secure meetings with targeted prospects and effectively communicate CSL USA's capabilities and value proposition.
  • Develop opportunities across probiotics, fermentation services, specialty microbial cultures, next-generation microorganisms, and finished-product solutions.
  • Take ownership of opportunities from initial prospecting through technical evaluation, proposal, negotiation, and commercial close.
  • Achieve or exceed established annual targets for new business revenue, pipeline development, and profitability.
  • Develop strategic account-entry plans for high-value target customers and pursue them with persistence and discipline.
  • Identify emerging market opportunities, technologies, applications, and customer needs that align with CSL USA's capabilities.
  • Work closely with technical, R&D, operations, quality, and leadership teams to convert complex customer opportunities into commercial business.
  • Maintain a high level of prospecting and customer-facing activity and demonstrate a strong sense of urgency in advancing opportunities.
  • Establish clear next steps for opportunities and actively drive projects forward rather than waiting for customer action.
  • Maintain an accurate, current, and actionable sales pipeline within the company's CRM system.
  • Provide realistic monthly, quarterly, and annual sales forecasts based on customer activity, project stage, probability, timing, and commercial potential.
  • Regularly review pipeline performance, identify barriers to conversion, and develop actions to accelerate opportunities.
  • Maintain disciplined follow-up with prospects and customers.
  • Negotiate pricing, commercial terms, and agreements while protecting company profitability and long-term strategic interests.
  • Track and report key business-development metrics, including prospecting activity, qualified opportunities, new projects, pipeline value, conversion rates, new customers, and revenue generated.
  • Develop strong relationships with decision-makers, technical stakeholders, formulators, purchasing teams, executives, and other key influencers within target organizations.
  • Understand customer business objectives, technical requirements, commercial challenges, and unmet needs and translate them into opportunities for CSL USA.
  • Develop a strong understanding of the competitive landscape, including competitors, market pricing, capabilities, technologies, and industry trends.
  • Represent CSL USA at industry conferences, trade shows, customer meetings, networking events, and other business-development activities.
  • Develop relationships throughout the health and nutrition ecosystem that create referrals, partnerships, and new commercial opportunities.
  • Collaborate with existing customers to identify appropriate opportunities for expansion while maintaining a strong primary focus on new business development.
