Purpose of the job:
The Sales Manager - Acetyls Americas is responsible for sales and marketing efforts, including contract and price negotiation, for the Acetyls product line within the region. The primary responsibility is to select and service a range of end-use customers, oversee logistics, and meet target volume and profitability levels.
Accountabilities of the job:
- The Sales Manager (Acetyls) operates in a remote home-office environment, emphasizing face-to-face sales contact to define customer requirements. Must be self-sufficient and highly motivated.
- Responsible for gathering and sharing marketing intelligence, including growth trends, derivative information, and competitor activities. Must have high product and market sector expertise and network with INEOS Acetyls team members globally.
- Maximize regional profitability by balancing volume and gross margin. Responsible for sales of products like acetic acid, acetic anhydride, and ethyl acetate, and for preparing sales forecasts and marketing plans.
- Coordinate with support departments (Customer Service, Logistics, HSE, Credit, Legal) to address customer issues and initiatives.
- Manage all customer aspects of the order-to-cash process, including cash collection, on-time payments, and customer setup.
- Build and maintain relationships at all levels within customer organizations.
Required profile:
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in science, engineering, business, or similar; MBA desirable.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in sales, marketing, or business management in the petrochemical industry.
- Self-starter with the ability to drive performance and translate strategic thinking into operational activities.
Technical skills:
- Strong marketing, sales, and negotiation skills.
- Proven ability to develop customer relationships linked to financial success.
- Quick understanding of market dynamics and opportunities.
- Sound commercial judgment and analytical skills.
- Proficiency with business software (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Understanding of chemistry and production processes.
