Job summary

Lm Services Corporation is seeking an experienced hotel sales leader to direct solicitation efforts, oversee rate/date/space commitments for group room sales, and coordinate reporting across Sales, Front Office, and Housekeeping.

You will develop and implement departmental plans and budgets, monitor progress toward goals, and conduct persuasive presentations to prospective clients. Some travel and client entertainment are required.

Qualifications

• College degree with hotel/venue/attractions major is preferred.
• Prior Sales, Food and Beverage, or Catering experience required.
• Ability to organize and coordinate travel-industry research and develop marketing strategies.

Responsibilities

• Direct the solicitation efforts of the sales staff through effective oral and written communication.
• Oversee rate, date and space commitments for group room sales within the hotel.
• Prepare reports pertaining to Sales, Front Office, and Housekeeping operations.
• Develop and implement departmental business plans, annual budgets, and monthly forecasts.
• Monitor progress toward sales goals and revise reports as necessary.
• Develop and conduct persuasive verbal and written sales presentations to prospective clients.
• Coordinate site inspections with potential large groups and entertain clients, with some travel.
• Train and develop Sales staff and conduct performance reviews.

Job description

Direct the solicitation efforts of the sales staff through effective oral and written communication while overseeing rate, date and space commitments for group room sales within the hotel.Compiles and/or directs the preparation of reports pertaining to the operation of the Sales, Front Office, and Housekeeping Departments. Supervise the development and implementation of departmental business plans, annual budgets, and monthly forecasts. Monitor period to date status of sales goals, implement contingency plans and revise reports as necessary.Develop and conduct persuasive verbal and written sales presentations to prospective clients. Conduct property site inspections with potential large groups. Internally promote LHM marketing programs. Meet with and entertain clients, requiring some travel.Coordinate ongoing research of the travel industry to detect market trends and related information for development of new marketing strategies. Make reasonable recommendations to improve potential from various markets.Work closely with the Reservations Manager to determine the proper selling and control strategy of room sales for the hotel.Organize and/or attend scheduled Sales Department and related meetings.Train and develop Sales staff, conduct meaningful performance reviews for the Management Team in the Sales office. Ensure training programs are conducted regularly and LHM’s standards of performance are met. Give guidance and counsel staff toward improvement.QUALIFICATION STANDARDSEDUCATION AND EXPERIENCEAny combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from college or any other combination of education, training or experience that provides the required knowledge skills and abilities.
