Job summary

Ashley Furniture is seeking an Assistant General Sales Manager to support the General Sales Manager in daily retail store operations. The role focuses on achieving sales KPIs, supervising staff, and ensuring high-quality customer service.

You will lead the sales team, coach staff, and help manage budgets while maintaining efficient store workflows and reporting. A strong leader with retail experience is essential for this position.

Qualifications

• Must have retail experience and be able to motivate employees to hit sales KPIs.
• Strong customer service skills with ability to handle guest concerns promptly.
• Experience coaching sales staff and communicating with cross-functional teams.
• Able to interview, hire, and staff retail locations within budget constraints.

Responsibilities

• Support the General Sales Manager in overseeing all sales KPIs such as volume, margin, and sales per guest.
• Handle customer issues in the absence of the General Sales Manager.
• Provide leadership with timely communication to sales, guest experience, and visual teams.
• Coach sales staff to build individual and team success.
• Assist in maintaining budgeted administrative costs including wages and supplies.
• Ensure documentation of procedures and tasks completed.
• Prepare and administer coaching sessions for development of the sales team.
• Coordinate daily, weekly peak state huddles.
• Work with Visual Presentation Manager on product placement.
• Report changes in policy to staff and perform other duties as assigned.

Summary:

The Assistant General Sales Manager is responsible for supporting the General Sales Manager in the day-to-day operations of the retail store.

Responsibilities:

• Support the General Sales Managers in overseeing all sales KPI’s including but not limited to; volume, margin, closing ratio, sales per guest, bedding and protection.
• The ability to handle all customer-related issues in the absence of the General Sales Manager.
• Provide exceptional leadership with timely and effective communication to the sales, guest experience, and visual teams.
• Coach members of the sales staff to build individual and team success in a professional manner.
• Assist the General Sales Manager in maintaining budgeted administrative costs including wages and supplies.
• Ensure complete and adequate documentation of procedures and tasks completed.
• Complete various report functions in a timely manner.
• Aid to maintain proper staffing levels for the sales team job code in accordance with company set budget levels.
• Prepare and administer impact coaching sessions for the development of the sales team.
• Coordinate and execute daily, weekly peak state huddles.
• Work with the Visual Presentation Manager regarding product placement.
• Report changes in policy and other information to staff members.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements & Qualifications:

• High School Diploma required
• 2 + years working in the retail industry
• Ability to motivate employees to achieve sales KPI’s
• Ability to handle guest concerns in a timely manner
• Ability to interview and staff retail location

Compensation:

Individual compensation packages are determined based on job-related factors such as skills, experience, qualifications, and internal equity. Annual Base Salary Range: $70,400.00 – $79,000.00. In addition to base pay, employees are eligible to earn monthly incentive compensation based on Store Revenue, Protection Gross Margin, Bedding Margin, and Conversion.
