Sales Manager
As the world’s largest family of luxury hotels, we take pride in being ambassadors of the InterContinental® brand. Our mandate is to develop and grow revenue by targeting new accounts, enhancing existing relationships, and propelling profitable self‑directed self‑selling efforts.

Responsibilities
- Meet and exceed revenue goals by developing new accounts and growing current hotel accounts in a win‑win approach within the assigned markets.
- Achieve a minimum of 90% of productivity goals and 100% of activity goals, as established by management.
- Target results‑oriented high revenue potential sales calls of 30+ room nights on peak to ensure a successful direct sales program, in accordance with departmental budget and marketing plan.
- Maximize current hotel key accounts by identifying and capturing those that offer revenue growth.
- Capture competitor accounts through networking, research, and barrier board surveys to target and solicit those most likely to generate new business.
- Acquire referrals from existing accounts; follow up on all leads within 24 hours and, when appropriate, send leads to sister hotels.
- Plan and implement an ongoing targeted account development “hit list” of 50+ room nights on peak to create new revenue and secure valuable hotel contacts and contracts.
- Continuously target and prospect for new business with 50+ room nights on peak through telemarketing, creativity, and innovation.
- Maintain a well‑documented, accurate, organized, and up‑to‑date file management system to serve clients swiftly and knowledgeably.
- Develop strong customer relationships through frequent communication and professional, courteous, and ethical interaction.
- Develop customer profiles and maintain an effective trace system, including trace dates and references, to best meet client needs and enhance revenue.
- Promptly address all customer needs and inquiries efficiently.
- Conduct research, surveys, personal investigation, and studies of the marketplace and territory to capitalize on the hotel's strengths and competitors’ weaknesses.
- Focus on revenue‑producing activity, dedicating at least 90% of work time to direct sales efforts.
- Control expenses while traveling on the property's behalf to minimize department and hotel costs.
- Represent the hotel and company with integrity and professionalism, maintaining a service‑focused approach and sincere attitude at all times.
- Maintain a positive team attitude and open communication with all co‑workers for optimal hotel performance.
- Display a neat, clean, and business‑like appearance at all times.
- Achieve activity goals and complete all reports and assignments accurately and timely.
- Actively participate in community and trade organizations that benefit the hotel's exposure and bottom line.
