Job summary

Paul Logistics seeks an experienced Sales Manager – Logistics in Chicago to lead and grow the Business Development team. This hands-on leader will recruit, coach, and develop a high-performing sales staff while executing initiatives to expand the customer base and strengthen market presence.

The role requires a track record of exceeding sales goals, building teams, and creating a culture of accountability and performance within a fast-growing logistics environment.

Qualifications

• 3–7 years of leadership experience in logistics sales, freight brokerage, transportation, supply chain, or business development.
• Proven success managing sales teams and consistently exceeding revenue goals.
• Experience recruiting, coaching, mentoring, and developing high-performing sales professionals.
• Strong knowledge of freight brokerage, truckload, LTL, transportation, and logistics operations.
• Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
• Experience using CRM platforms and Microsoft Office, including Excel.

Responsibilities

• Mentor, and develop Business Development Representatives and future sales leaders.
• Create coaching strategies that improve sales performance, productivity, and employee development.
• Develop and execute sales strategies that drive new business growth and customer acquisition.
• Identify and pursue new opportunities within freight brokerage, transportation, logistics, and supply chain markets.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with prospective and existing customers.
• Manage sales forecasting, pipeline development, and team performance metrics.
• Monitor KPIs while ensuring monthly, quarterly, and annual sales goals are achieved.
• Collaborate with operations, carrier sales, and customer success teams to ensure exceptional service delivery.
• Negotiate pricing, contracts, and service agreements with customers.
• Analyze market trends, customer needs, and competitive activity to identify growth opportunities.
• Represent Paul Logistics at networking events, customer meetings, trade shows, and industry conferences.
• Promote a culture of accountability, collaboration, continuous improvement, and customer satisfaction.
