The Sales Porter Position has a pay scale consisting of the following elements and ranges. Wages include a base hourly compensation of between $16.50 and $17.00.
Position Purpose
The Sales Lot Porter moves and cleans vehicles, keeps used vehicles in sound working condition, and assists Managers as requested.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Keeps the used-vehicle lot neat and orderly, moving cars as directed by Managers and in accordance with dealership display standards.
- Cleans interior and exterior of used vehicles, including the trunk, glove compartment, tires, and windows as needed.
- Picks up vehicles and delivers to customers as directed by Management.
- Starts vehicles daily and reports any problems or concerns.
- Picks up required parts from the Parts Department when requested.
- Responsible for keeping all vehicles appropriately fueled.
- Ensures that required forms/stickers have been completed and are properly displayed.
- Maintains the parking lot in a neat and organized manner, free of debris and fluid leaks.
- Regularly checks to ensure that all vehicles in the parking lot are locked and secure.
- Inspects each vehicle for lot damage and reports any issues to management immediately.
- Washes all vehicles before delivery to clients in a timely manner.
- Inspects all vehicles for grease, stains, or debris, and cleans them immediately using the materials and techniques specified by management.
- Keeps waste cans emptied and hauls bulky waste items to the dumpster on scheduled days and as needed.
- Shuttles clients to and from the dealership as needed.
- Immediately reports any situation or condition that jeopardizes safety, welfare, or the integrity of the dealership, its employees, or customers.
- Adheres to work schedule, arriving before the scheduled start time and being engaged at the work station by that time.
- Complies with all safety rules and uses all appropriate safety and personal protection equipment as required.
- Adheres to the established dress code policy at all times.
- Safeguards customer and dealer information per established policy.
- Exemplifies organizational culture and holds others in the department accountable for doing the same.
- Completes all current and future tasks as assigned or requested.
- Performs other related duties as may be assigned.
