Responsibilities

Express is seeking a Retail Sales Leader to join our team.

The Sales Leader drives operations on the sales floor and in the stockroom, while assisting in training associates and delivering a great in-store shopping experience for customers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in developing and motivating associates to maximize sales potential
  • Provide in-the-moment coaching/training to store associates to ensure efficient and effective floor operations, customer service, coverage, stockroom management, and execution of standards
  • Partner with Store Management to provide feedback on associate performance
  • Assist in training associates on store operations, product knowledge, policies, and procedures
  • Execute action plans that optimize results
  • Manage all aspects of daily store operations
  • Ensure appropriate associate coverage to create a great customer experience
  • Oversee and authorize the checkout experience
  • Assist with merchandise flow, including shipment, replenishment, omni-channel operations, and in-store activities
  • Monitor and analyze customer service provided by team members
  • Build effective schedules with the right associates at the right times
  • Promote and support an environment focused on delivering excellent in-store customer experiences
  • Resolve customer service issues effectively for positive outcomes
  • Lead and model the customer experience standards
  • Display expert knowledge of products, company policies, promotions, and loyalty programs
  • Assist with product launches, visual presentation standards, signage, and window changes
  • Perform other duties as directed by your supervisor

Required Experience & Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • At least 1 year of retail experience
  • Proficient in the use of technology (iPad, registers)
  • Availability to work nights, weekends, and non-business hours
  • Ability to meet physical requirements

Critical Skills & Attributes

  • Previous retail experience preferred
  • Effective communication skills with customers, peers, and supervisors
  • Demonstrated sales accountability
  • Strong collaborative skills and team orientation
  • Ability to multitask and handle multiple customers and processes simultaneously
