Job summary

Journeys in Springfield, IL (White Oaks Mall) is hiring to support store management and drive sales. You will develop associates, coach the team, and help achieve store and personal performance goals in a vibrant, teen-focused retail setting.

The role offers a pathway to Sales Lead with opportunities to grow within Genesco’s Journeys brand, a team-oriented culture, and benefits including employee discounts and potential bonuses. Weekend and evening shifts may be required.

Responsibilities

• Meet and exceed store and personal sales goals and standards of performance
• Assist in training and developing a successful sales team
• Provide feedback, coaching, and accountability to all employees by enforcing all company policies and practices
• Perform all opening and closing duties according to company policy
• Supervise and manage all aspects of daily store operations in store management's absence
• Supervise and manage all aspects of Loss Prevention practices in store management's absence
• Effectively communicate all store needs to store management
• Complete all assigned tasks and responsibilities promptly
• Complete all required training
• Provide a fun, full service experience to all customers
• Resolve customer issues effectively
• Understand the Journeys culture and demonstrate it to the team
• Ability to work night and weekend shifts
• Ability to climb, reach, bend, and lift up to 50 pounds
• Stand for long periods of time
