Job summary

Steel Dynamics, Inc. is seeking a Sales Intern for its Structural & Rail Division. The role supports Inside Sales with order entry, quotes, and admin tasks while delivering excellent customer service and timely responses to inquiries.

Interns will learn the SDI steel process from raw material to finished products, travel across locations, and engage with brokers, suppliers, and internal teams to understand the full sales cycle and logistics.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program in business or marketing.
• Must have completed junior year.
• Preferred GPA at least 2.7.
• Proficient with PC applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Able to work in a team and help teammates daily.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to multitask.

Responsibilities

• Manage customer service functions, respond to inquiries and emails promptly.
• Support Inside Sales with order entry, quotes, and related admin tasks.
• Provide exceptional customer support for product availability and delivery status questions.
• Maintain pricing information and freight data accuracy.
• Prepare, analyze, and distribute reports to support sales operations.
