Job Overview

The Sales Floor Department Supervisor is responsible for leading and enabling a team of associates to deliver excellent customer service and maintain store standards. Responsibilities include coaching, training, delegating tasks, managing performance, and ensuring department coverage.

Key Responsibilities

• Providing resources and tools to support customer service efforts.
• Assisting with stocking, area recovery, and merchandising decisions.
• Monitoring use of store equipment and coaching on safety and lifting techniques.
• Leading customer-facing activities: greeting, needs clarification, and sales closing.
• Managing non-customer activities: inventory, safety walks, hazard reporting.
• Supervising associates across departments as needed.
• Occasionally opening or closing the store or serving as manager-on-duty.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent, with 3-5 years retail experience.
• At least 1 year in customer service.
• Experience supporting Pro customers (preferred for Pro Department Supervisor).
• Leadership or supervisory experience.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Ability to lift 25 pounds, with or without assistance.

Preferred Qualifications

• 3+ years retail customer service experience.
• Experience in home improvement retail and managing teams.
• Experience with store computer systems.

Additional Information

This role is full-time, generally 39-40 hours per week, with flexible availability including mornings, afternoons, and evenings. Occasional travel may be required. The role may include opening, closing, or managing the store as needed.
