What can you expect?

As the Senior Manager of Sales Compensation, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and managing the Sales Compensation Plans (SCIP) for our Marsh & Mercer colleagues across the US and Canada. This highly visible, hands-on position requires strategic collaboration with various stakeholders, including Total Rewards, Human Resources, Finance, and Sales teams. You will lead a dedicated team of sales compensation specialists, ensuring adherence to compensation plan rules and timely, accurate payments to colleagues. Your expertise will drive the effectiveness and efficiency of our sales compensation strategies.

What is in it for you?

You will be part of a diverse community that values different perspectives and encourages the sharing of skills and ideas. At MMC, we prioritize professional growth and welcome you to engage in a stimulating exchange of ideas for both personal and professional development.

We will count on you to:

  • Assume a leadership role in the development and refinement of processes within our Sales Compensation Administration System (Anaplan).
  • Lead and mentor a team of Sales Compensation Specialists, fostering a collaborative and high-performance environment.
  • Collaborate with Total Rewards, Human Resources, Sales Leadership, and Finance teams to establish clear metrics and language for sales compensation plans that align with organizational goals.
  • Implement and administer sales incentive programs, managing day-to-day workflow approvals for the Sales Compensation team.
  • Work closely with the Corporate Information Systems (CIS) team to drive enhancements and efficiencies of system changes.
  • Document and maintain policies, procedures, and flow charts specific to sales compensation processes, ensuring effective communication with stakeholders.
  • Train colleagues on Anaplan and promote further adoption of our monthly sales compensation system and processes.
  • Support regional finance and controllership in the monthly SCIP accrual and forecast process.
  • Conduct periodic audits of the sales compensation system and processes to ensure compliance and effectiveness.
  • Stay informed on industry trends, providing strategic insights on the impact of compensation on sales effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Create detailed reports on sales compensation performance for senior management, offering insights and recommendations based on data analysis.
  • Conduct market research to understand industry compensation trends, ensuring our plans remain competitive.
  • Participate in various projects and provide support to cross-functional teams as needed.

What you need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Management or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • 7+ years of experience in a role of similar complexity within finance or operations.
  • Professionalism, patience, and a customer-first attitude.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work effectively under pressure.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail; comfortable in a fast-paced environment; self-motivated, and able to work within a small team.
  • Advanced skills in Excel and PowerPoint preferred.
  • Experience with MPOWER or similar CRM systems.
  • Anaplan skills are a significant plus.

Why join our team:

  • We help you be your best through professional development opportunities, interesting work, and supportive leaders.
  • We foster a vibrant and inclusive culture where you can work with talented colleagues to create new solutions and have an impact on colleagues, clients, and communities.
  • Our scale enables us to provide a range of career opportunities, as well as benefits and rewards to enhance your well-being.
