Job summary

Axis Communications is seeking a Sales Engineer for the Midwest in Bloomington, MN to partner with the sales team and partners on pre-sales solutions, design, and implementation using Axis hardware and software. The role emphasizes field and design services across Axis product portfolios.

You will provide design training, perform site surveys, optimize camera placement and network design, and support pre-sales research and proof-of-concept work while traveling up to 15% to customer sites and

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or post-secondary diploma in information technology (IT), networking, computer science, or security and information risk management.
• 3+ years' industry experience in customer facing roles related to systems design, engineering, project management, integration, and/or development.

Responsibilities

• Act as subject matter expert for design tasks and maintain Axis equipment and network.
• Support Axis-based solutions primarily in a pre-sales capacity.
• Manage pre-sales research, site design, integration questions, proof-of-concept work.
• Assist with virtual sales calls, partner trainings, walkthroughs.

• Provide design training, system design and best practices for Axis Sales organization and partners.
• Analyze tech support cases for trends and engage sales as needed.
• Follow up on escalated tech support tickets.

Job Title: Sales Engineer, Midwest

Job Description Summary

The Sales Engineer will have the primary responsibilities of working with the sales team and partners on pre-sales solutions and technical issues. The services provided include advising, implementing, educating and designing solutions based on Axis hardware and software. The role will have an emphasis on providing field and design services across the entire portfolio of Axis products.

What You'll Do Here

• Acts as a role of subject matter expert for design tasks and maintains/updates AEC equipment and network.
• Responsible for supporting Axis based solutions primarily in a pre-sales capacity.
• Manage pre-sales research, site design, integration questions, proof-of-concept work
• Assist with virtual sales calls, partner trainings, walkthroughs
• Advises and makes recommendations involving Axis hardware and software platforms.
• Provides design training, system design and best practices for Axis Sales organization, channel partners, program partners and end customers as required.
• Analyze tech support cases in the area for trends, outstanding cases and other potential issues and engage sales team as needed
• Follow up/management of escalated tech support tickets
• Educates and disseminates information on best practices both internally and externally.
• Researches and identifies ways to provide better services and offerings to Axis partners.

What we are looking for

• Extensive system design and integration experience (site surveys, camera placement, network design, bandwidth/storage calculations, pixels on target, application drawings (Visio, CAD), etc
• Strong networking knowledge (TCP/IP, Routers, Switches, VPN's, etc.)
• Extensive knowledge of image quality, video transport protocols and compression technologies
• Strong sales mentality and customer relationship skills
• Proven ability to work in cross functional teams and business units
• Positive customer-centric attitude
• Excellent written/verbal communication and presentation skills

Education and Experience

Bachelors' Degree or post-secondary diploma in information technology (IT), networking, computer science, or security and information risk management 3+ years' industry experience in customer facing roles related to: systems design, engineering, project management, integration, and/or development.

Target Salary: $90,000 - $100,000 OTE
