The Territory Sales Engineer will be responsible for selling company solutions and products across various fields and markets, including Semiconductor, Life Sciences, and Material Sciences.
The Territory Sales Engineer is responsible for selling various tools and solutions, including fluorescence, Raman, XRF, optical spectroscopy components, and custom systems, and gas-emission analysis, with minimal supervision, but will ultimately work with the Territory Sales Manager.
The Territory Sales Engineer must maintain client satisfaction through consistent and ongoing client contact and engagement while upholding the HORIBA Code of Conduct and professional standards.
The Territory Sales Engineer will be responsible for expanding business in existing accounts and securing business from new accounts.
The Territory Sales Engineer will handle customer inquiries, actively prospect, and conduct product demonstrations and presentations effectively.
The Territory Sales Engineer will develop customer interest in equipment, prepare quotations, and follow through on purchase orders.
The Territory Sales Engineer will achieve assigned sales targets and develop sales strategies.
The Territory Sales Engineer will be required to attend local trade shows and maintain a digital marketing portfolio via LinkedIn, ResearchGate, and other relevant platforms.
The Territory Sales Engineer will actively engage in new scientific markets and develop strong client partnerships.
The Territory Sales Engineer will stay current with industry trends and competitors to identify improvements or recommend new products.
The Territory Sales Engineer will maintain a customer/prospect database and track activity using the company’s Salesforce CRM.
The Territory Sales Engineer will prepare reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information, including forecasts, activities, and territory evaluations.
The Territory Sales Engineer will maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, benchmarking state-of-the-art practices, and participating in professional societies.
Bachelor’s degree in a scientific discipline; master’s or Ph.D. preferred, or equivalent experience.
Experience selling into the life sciences, materials science, or semiconductor markets.
Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Willingness to travel up to 50%.
Prior sales experience is required, with a minimum of 5 years, in addition to sales training from a reputable program or company.
Technical, capital equipment, and optical/spectroscopy experience required.
Proficiency in MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel), CRM systems, and digital marketing tools.
Midwest-based sales engineer, primarily residing in IL, MN, MO, IA, IN, OH, MI, WI, or CO.
Ability to present independently.
Experience with prospecting using contacts, digital media, and other methods.
Ability to drive a sale from initial contact to close.
Ability to create and deliver presentations.
Self-motivated and goal-oriented, with a strong desire to deliver results.
Quick, self-directed learner.
