The Sales Engineer I role generates new business opportunities by consistently prospecting, cold calling, and developing relationships with new customers and markets within the assigned territory. This position helps manufacturers transform their operations by promoting cutting‑edge machine tools (automated lathes, turret punch press, and combination laser‑punch systems) and delivering value‑driven solutions that solve real production challenges. The Sales Engineer I will manage the beginning of the sales cycle—from initial contact, to lead generation to handoff to the Regional Sales Manager—while playing a critical role in increasing revenue and profitability for the company.
Meet established sales objectives to support the division operating plan including performing the following sales activities:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public.
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. Must have very high level of good judgment due to great number of daily operating decisions that must be made.
This position requires up to 80% travel including overnight and possible international travel. A valid driver’s license and a good driving record are required.
