Summary of the role:

In this role as a Sales Engineer, you are both a tech-savvy professional who specializes in understanding the technical aspects of a product and effectively communicating them to potential customers. They work closely with sales teams to drive successful pre-sales engagements.

What you will be doing/Responsibilities and Duties:

Pre-Sales Support:

  • Collaborate with sales representatives to provide technical expertise during the sales process.
  • Assist in qualifying opportunities and managing proof-of-concept (POC) processes.
  • Script, configure and deliver value-driven product demos to prospects.

Technical Consultation:

  • Understand the product thoroughly and explain its value, benefits, features and technical details to potential clients.
  • Address technical objections or questions raised by prospects.
  • Assist developers with initial integrations and third-party solutions.

Relationship Building:

  • Build strong relationships with customers by understanding their needs and tailoring technical solutions.
  • Work closely with internal teams (engineering, product, and support) to ensure customer success.

Sales Support:

  • Collaborate with sales teams to chase leads, convert customers, and upsell to existing clients.
  • Provide technical thought leadership to maximize business value for customers.

Who you are/Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (Computer Science, MIS, Engineering, etc.) preferred.
  • Proven experience (typically 3+ years) in a pre-sales environment, supporting sales cycles.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, compelling messages for non-technical audiences.

Base & Commission- M-Files offers excellent compensation including a base salary plus commission on sales. There is no cap on commission.
