Job summary

gpac is seeking a Sales Engineer for a Southern California commercial mechanical contractor, in the Greater San Diego Area. You will build relationships with general contractors, developers, building owners and partners to identify and win projects valued from $1M to $15M, with a base salary plus uncapped commission.

This role requires 5+ years of mechanical construction experience, knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, piping, and preconstruction.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of commercial mechanical construction experience preferred.
• Experience working for a commercial mechanical contractor strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of commercial HVAC, plumbing, piping, and mechanical systems.
• Background in sales engineering, business development, preconstruction, estimating, or project management.
• Strong relationship-building and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain relationships with general contractors, developers, building owners, and industry partners.
• Identify, pursue, and help secure commercial mechanical construction projects.
• Work with estimating, engineering, and operations teams to develop project proposals and solutions.
• Participate in design-build, value engineering, and preconstruction discussions.
• Help clients evaluate mechanical systems, project budgets, and potential alternatives.
• Grow existing accounts while developing new business opportunities.
