Job summary

Cognisant is seeking a Sales Engineer for data center infrastructure to act as the primary technical advisor to hyperscale cloud tenants through the presales lifecycle. Remote work option available.

You will translate complex requirements into scalable data center solutions, author technical responses for RFIs/RFPs, and advise on power topology, cooling, and GPU platform needs, including next-gen NVIDIA platforms.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
• 3-5+ years in data center design, construction, commissioning, operations, or presales engineering, ideally supporting hyperscale, neoscaler, or AI tenants.
• Working knowledge of critical infrastructure (UPS, switchgear, generators, ATS/STS, PDUs) and cooling systems (CRAH, CRAC, chillers, D2C liquid cooling).
• Ability to read and mark up electrical/mechanical single-line drawings; proficiency in AutoCAD and Bluebeam.
• PE license or data center certification (CDCP, CDCS, CDCDP, ATD) a plus.

Responsibilities

• Serve as technical lead on tenant engagements, translating complex business requirements into scalable colocation and data center infrastructure solutions.
• Own technical responses for RFIs, RFPs, RFQs, and due diligence questionnaires, coordinating input across Engineering, Construction, Operations, and Legal.
• Advise on power topology (DR, BR, 2N, 2N+2), generator redundancy, UPS strategy, and liquid cooling readiness including direct-to-chip and CDU design.
• Support multi-megawatt campus deployments, build-to-suit and powered shell solutions, and current-generation GPU platform requirements (including NVIDIA Blackwell, Vera Rubin, and Feynman).
• Bridge sales, engineering, and delivery teams — validating technical feasibility before commitments are made and supporting a seamless handoff to project delivery.
• Present to tenant executives, architects, and technical stakeholders as a trusted advisor throughout the deal cycle.
