Job summary

Actalent in Torrance, CA is seeking a results-driven Technical Sales Engineer to promote sub-fractional horsepower motors, drives, and motion control products. You will engage engineers and designers, develop solutions, and present customer quotations.

You will manage existing accounts, forecast sales, and contribute to marketing and training initiatives while collaborating with other departments to drive growth. A Bachelor's degree and 2+ years' related experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; 2 years related experience or equivalent combination.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Sell sub-fractional horsepower motors, drives, and motion control products to engineers and technicians.
• Maintain and grow sales with existing customers and forecast sales in territory.
• Prepare quotes, presentations, and reports; train distributors and reps as needed.
• Provide technical support on operation of motors and related products and track payments with AR.

Primary Duty

Working in a team environment, selling sub-fractional horsepower electric motors, drives, fans and associated motion control products. Essential Job Functions: Ability and successfully demonstrates a clear understanding of the products, industries and knowledge of the sales process. By using and demonstrating strong product knowledge, it offers value and ideas for sales growth by calling on customers such as engineers, designers, or other professional and technical personnel at commercial, industrial, and other establishments Responsible for sales volume, forecasting and sales growth, by maintaining existing customers within designated sales territory. Call on as engineers, designers, or other professional and technical personnel at current customers and attempt to convince prospective clients of desirability and practicability of products or services offered. Support distributions sales growth via training, support, joint calls, joint marketing and goal setting. Manage and follow up on leads in local territory. Review customer drawings, plans, and other customer documents to develop and prepare cost estimates and properly engineered products. Provide technical support to clients relating to operation of motors, drives and related products. Prepare and present customer quotations, training, seminars, call reports, and special reports as directed. Work with Accounts Receivables to collect delinquent payments. Share market information working with other departments throughout the organization. Participate in Technical Training as related to the Technical Knowledge of products. Use CRM as necessary to record customer information in a timely manner. Prepare and submit sales reports. Collateral Duties May be required to participate in special marketing projects. May be required to participate in tradeshows and other corporate promotional events. May be responsible to train and work with sales representatives and other third-party sales groups. Perform other tasks and special projects as needed.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $80000.00 - $87500.00/yr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
