The Customer Support Team is seeking a hybrid/remote Sales Engineer. You will provide technical expertise through sales presentations, product demonstrations, installation, and ongoing maintenance of TrellisWare products. You will work closely with the Business Development team to assess potential applications, develop detailed product specifications, and build customized solutions that demonstrate feasibility to clients.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide pre‑sales, post‑sales, and customer support for all TrellisWare product offerings, both onsite and remotely.
- Develop custom‑tailored communications solutions for customers’ specific systems.
- Support sales and business development leads in securing new business, including field troubleshooting of products and integrations and trade‑show booth support.
- Evaluate customer requirements and determine technical configurations, generating product quotations in coordination with sales management.
- Craft and deliver technical presentations of TrellisWare offerings to new and existing customers.
- Support field demonstrations, product training, integration with third‑party accessories (e.g., antennas, headsets, power sources, cameras, microphones), and applications such as voice, IP data, and video. A strong emphasis on IP networking is required.
- Draft demonstration and application sample white papers as needed and assess new accessories or applications that extend product effectiveness.
- Perform technical and integration support of sales pursuits, trade shows, customer demonstrations, and field exercises, documenting field accomplishments and any observed anomalies.
- Support related product documentation throughout the product line.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Develop relationships with team members built on trust and respect.
Education and Work Experience
- Four‑year technical degree or equivalent military service experience.
- At least 5 years of related experience in the market or technology segments identified.
- Demonstrated track record in fielding and troubleshooting RF systems and networked communications products.
- Knowledge of configuration, operation, and maintenance of tactical communication systems or TrellisWare products.
- Experience in U.S. Special Forces, U.S. Military, and/or commercial specialty communications communities highly desired.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Ability to travel 50–75%.
- Strong understanding of IP data, addressing schemes, IP switches/router interfaces, gateway functionality, TCP/UDP protocols, and best methods for transfer over data pipes.
- Understanding of military communications markets and deployment practices, including USSOCOM, Army, Navy, Air Force, and other government agencies.
- Strong documentation skills and proficiency with PC office applications.
- Knowledge of electrical and mechanical integration for embedding radios into vehicles, aircraft, or ships.
- Ability to explain complex communication and engineering concepts in simple, understandable ways.
- Familiarity with design, manufacturing, testing, and sales procedures for volume handheld and embedded radio products.
- Familiarity with wideband networked military and commercial communication products and government contracting.
- Ability to work independently, demonstrate initiative, and collaborate with engineering development teams, acquisition specialists, and product users.

Physical Demands
- Able to frequently sit, stand, walk, use hands to fingers, handle or feel, reach within hand’s length, stoop, kneel, crouch, talk, and hear.
- Regularly required to sit for extended periods and use office equipment such as PC, printer, telephone.
- Able to lift or move up to 10 pounds regularly, 25 pounds frequently, and up to 50 pounds occasionally.
- Visual requirements include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

San Diego, California Pay Range: $100,000 — $115,000 USD annually.
