Sales Engineer

This key position involves working with applications engineers to design and promote Leybold equipment, helping industrial clients enhance their process efficiencies. You will serve as the primary customer-facing liaison, educating companies about vacuum technology advancements to upgrade their production processes.

Main Responsibilities
  1. Balance time between home office and on-site visits to advanced factories, educating engineers and management on vacuum technology.
  2. Promote products by designing and proposing equipment upgrades within assigned regions, focusing on industries like metallurgy, energy, food production, automotive, and high-tech ceramics.
  3. Develop and execute strategies to expand business in your geographic area, including current and new clients.
  4. Provide excellent technical support and product advice to customers.
  5. Participate in trade shows, seminars, and training to stay informed on industry trends and competitors.
  6. Maintain company property including vehicles, equipment, and demo products.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
  • Work involves exposure to mechanical parts, outdoor conditions, fumes, airborne particles, and occasional high or hazardous places. Noise levels are usually loud.
  • Requires sitting, standing, walking, climbing, and communication skills. Lifting up to 25 pounds regularly, with occasional heavier lifts.
  • This is a remote position with 50% travel, often overnight.
Scope of the Job
  • Domestic geographic scope.
  • No direct reports.
Skills, Knowledge, and Education
  • Engineering/science degree or technical equivalent.
  • Experience in customer-facing roles, excellent communication, technical knowledge, problem-solving, and PC skills (MS Office).
Other Requirements
  • High energy, curiosity, quick learner, ability to work independently, mechanical and vacuum system knowledge is a plus.
  • Valid Driver's License required. Military veterans encouraged to apply.
