Mission/Purpose of the Job:

Leybold, part of the Atlas Copco Group, aims to provide innovative, sustainable products and excellent service. You will work with application engineers to design Leybold equipment, helping industrial clients improve efficiency. This role is customer-facing, acting as a liaison to educate clients on vacuum technology advancements.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Balance time between home office and on-site visits at advanced factories, educating engineers and management on vacuum technology.
  • Promote products by designing and proposing equipment upgrade solutions within assigned regions, focusing on various industrial markets.
  • Develop strategies to expand business within the region, including current clients and new opportunities.
  • Provide excellent technical support and product advice to customers.
  • Attend trade shows, seminars, and training to stay updated on industry trends and competitors.
  • Manage company property and resources responsibly.
Physical Demands & Work Environment:

Regularly exposed to mechanical parts, outdoor weather, fumes, airborne particles, and occasional high or hazardous environments. Requires sitting, standing, walking, lifting up to 50 pounds, and frequent computer use. Position is remote with 50% travel, often overnight.

Scope of the Job:

Domestic geographic scope, no direct reports, responsible for a defined revenue/operational budget.

Skills, Knowledge, and Education:
  • Engineering/science degree or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in customer-facing roles and technical communication.
  • Ability to develop custom solutions and work collaboratively.
  • Proficiency in MS Office.
Other Requirements:
  • High energy, curiosity, and independent work capability.
  • Veterans and navy nukes encouraged to apply.
  • Valid driver’s license; mechanical and vacuum systems knowledge a plus.

Compensation:

Salary varies by location: Indiana/Michigan $52,822-$82,240; Illinois $77,280-$115,920. Compensation depends on qualifications.
