Job summary

Employee Relations Associates, Inc. seeks a Workplace Design Consultant to blend design expertise with business development. You will engage clients directly, translate needs into design concepts, and grow an active sales portfolio.

The role emphasizes relationship-building with architects and facility managers, with opportunities for commission and long-term career growth in commercial interior design and workplace solutions.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in commercial interior design, workplace design, contract furniture, architecture, or related fields.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred; equivalent experience considered.
• Experience with commercial furniture, space planning or workplace solutions.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD, CET Designer, or similar design software.
• Ability to interpret architectural drawings, floor plans and design specifications.
• Strong communication, presentation and relationship-building skills.
• Comfortable meeting with clients, presenting design solutions, and discussing project requirements.
• Interest in business development, consultative selling and account management.
• Self-motivated, outgoing and eager to develop new business relationships.

Responsibilities

• Partner with experienced workplace consultants to support and grow an established portfolio of commercial clients.
• Build relationships with customers, architects, interior designers, facility managers, and commercial real estate professionals.
• Meet with clients to understand their workplace needs, design preferences, budgets, and project timelines.
• Develop and present creative workplace solutions, space plans, furniture recommendations, and design concepts.
• Identify and pursue new business opportunities through networking, referrals, prospecting, and existing client relationships.
• Prepare and deliver client presentations, proposals, and project recommendations.
• Collaborate with internal design, sales and project management teams to ensure successful project execution.
• Maintain accurate customer information, sales opportunities and account activity within CRM systems.
• Take on increasing responsibility for client accounts while developing an independent sales pipeline.
