Organization: Pioneer Academics
Position: Director of Outreach
Location: Jenkintown, PA; Hybrid - 2 days remote (Mon & Fri), 3 days in-office (Tue–Thu). Remote work is limited to candidates residing in NYC, NJ, PA, NC, Colorado, Florida, Ohio.

Mission of the Position: The Director of Outreach will report to the Founding Director of Outreach and Reputation Management (FDORM). The mission is to develop and lead the global outreach team domestically and internationally. The outreach team recruits applicants through schools and organizations, independent educational consultants, external events, and engagement with students, parents, and other stakeholders up to the point of application. The Director will design, implement, and manage strategies that drive awareness and applications from top students, and, with the reputation management team, recruit high-caliber students through relationship building, channel development, presentations, events, and follow-up conversations.

Responsibilities

  • Strategic Leadership & Planning
    • Collaborate with CEO and FDORM to develop and implement a comprehensive global outreach strategy aligned with Pioneer’s mission and growth objectives.
    • Translate outreach targets into clear goals and plans for the outreach team.
    • Conduct market research to identify priority markets, trends, and competitor activities.
    • Create and maintain outreach infrastructure (playbooks, SOPs, training materials, territory plans).
    • Oversee outreach budgeting, forecasting, expense management, and ROI analysis.
  • Team Building & Management
    • Set team budgets and goals for U.S. and international recruitment.
    • Define performance targets, scorecards, and accountability frameworks.
    • Coach and mentor team members to build capacity and ensure consistent execution.
    • Monitor performance, provide feedback, and drive continuous improvement.
    • Review and approve weekly/monthly team reports and presentations; collaborate with FDORM in running team meetings.
  • Global Problem-Solving Institute (GPSI) Outreach Development, Improvement, and Integration
    • Collaborate to optimize GPSI outreach through the admissions process.
    • Allocate outreach assignments and targets considering GPSI and Research Institute relationships.
    • Train team members to conduct outreach to GPSI and Research Institute stakeholders.
    • Improve sell-through of Research Institute applicants from GPSI participants.
  • Direct Outreach & Relationship Development
    • Personally conduct outreach to high-priority schools and partners in the US and globally.
    • Build relationships with students, parents, educators, counselors, and nonprofit partners.
    • Represent Pioneer at conferences, events, and virtual engagements.
    • Source channel partners and negotiate to expand Pioneer’s reach and reputation.
    • Plan and deliver online information sessions and engagements with measurable, ongoing improvement.
  • Process Improvement & Systems Optimization
    • Develop CRM outreach components for accurate data entry, pipeline tracking, and reporting.
    • Ensure consistent branding and messaging; establish quality controls.
    • Adopt tools, technologies, and workflows to improve productivity and stakeholder experience.
  • Performance Management & Reporting
    • Own outreach goals for the research institute and GPSI with full accountability.
    • Monitor metrics, conversion rates, and pipeline health.
    • Analyze data to refine strategy and support decision-making.
    • Provide regular reports to co-founding directors and senior leadership with data-backed recommendations.
  • Collaboration & Cross-Functional Alignment
    • Work with Reputation Management to ensure consistent external messaging and brand protection.
    • Collaborate with Admissions, Academic Development, and Scholar Success teams to align outreach with the student journey.
  • Compliance & Ethics
    • Uphold Pioneer’s standards of integrity, ethics, and rigor in all outreach activities.
    • Promote ethical engagement and respect for diverse stakeholders.

Key Criteria/Requirements: Pioneer Academics seeks a Director with proven success in corporate sales and business development. An entrepreneurial mindset, tenacity, creativity, and leadership to drive a team and deliver success are essential. A bachelor’s degree from a top university is highly preferable.

  • Student-centric mindset and passion for outstanding education experiences.
  • At least 3 years of experience managing a sales team, with preference for education-related outreach experience.
  • Experience with CRM systems and developing/managing Business Development Toolkits (budgeting, forecasting, compensation planning, messaging and collateral, sales playbook).
  • Experience developing and implementing a Global Business Development Infrastructure in a startup is preferred.
  • Proficiency in target setting, recruiting, managing performance, training, and developing team members.
  • Willingness to travel periodically to visit schools, conferences, stakeholders, or Pioneer HQ.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and interpersonal skills for working with students, faculty, parents, and educational administrators.
  • Result-oriented with tenacity and resourcefulness, while upholding Pioneer’s ethical principles.
