Job description

Description

From weddings and celebrations to corporate gatherings and major sporting events, our team works behind the scenes to bring events to life. We take pride in delivering exceptional experiences, embracing creativity, and making every event run seamlessly.

About Us

We believe extraordinary events start with extraordinary people. If you take pride in your work, enjoy collaborating with a supportive team, and want to be part of something bigger, you’ll feel at home here.

About the Job

The Sales Director leads the full sales function for a market, overseeing a team of Event Directors, Business Development Managers, and Event Consultants (who are supported day-to-day by an Office Team Lead). This role is responsible for driving revenue growth, building a high-performing sales culture, and ensuring every client interaction reflects our commitment to exceptional service.

The Sales Director partners closely with operations, inventory, and regional/local leadership to translate strong client relationships and new business opportunities into seamless event execution. This is a player-coach role: you bring strategic vision and commercial acumen, and you also stay close enough to the business to develop your team and solve problems in real time.

What You’ll Do
Lead and Develop Sales Team
  • Directly manage Event Directors and Business Development Managers; provide direction, coaching, and accountability to support individual and team performance.
  • Oversee the Office Team Lead and Event Consultant team as an indirect reporting line, ensuring strong day-to-day sales support and client coordination.
  • Set clear performance expectations, conduct regular one-on-ones and team meetings, and deliver timely, constructive feedback.
  • Identify development opportunities and build a bench of talent across the sales organization.
  • Foster a collaborative team culture where sales, operations, and support functions work as a unified team.
Drive Revenue and Business Growth
  • Own the market’s revenue targets and lead the team to meet and exceed sales goals across all segments.
  • Oversee the Business Development Manager’s pipeline, supporting new channel development, strategic partnerships, and pursuit of non-traditional opportunities.
  • Partner with Event Directors to grow and retain key accounts, ensuring large-scale and complex events are managed with precision and care.
  • Identify market trends, competitive dynamics, and emerging opportunities to keep Bright ahead of the curve.
  • Approve pricing strategies, contract terms, and client proposals that balance revenue growth with long-term relationship value.
Ensure Operational Alignment and Client Excellence
  • Partner with operations and logistics leaders to ensure sales commitments are executable and client expectations are met consistently.
  • Oversee the accuracy and discipline of event details entered into the rental management system by the sales team.
  • Resolve escalated client issues promptly and with a solutions‑first mindset.
  • Champion a high standard of client experience from first inquiry through post‑event follow‑up.
  • Represent Bright externally through industry events, client entertainment, and community visibility.
Reporting and Planning
  • Provide regular sales reporting and forecasting to regional and company leadership.
  • Participate in annual budgeting and target‑setting processes.
  • Use CRM and rental management data to identify trends, track performance, and inform strategy.
  • Collaborate with HR and leadership on hiring, onboarding, and performance management across the sales team.
