Job description

Our client helps multifamily owners and operators deploy and manage EV charging across their portfolios. Their mission is to help put 1 million EVs on the road by rapidly scaling EV charging at multifamily properties across the U.S.

They have found product-market fit. The playbook works, the pipeline converts, and chargers are going in the ground. What we need now is more qualified projects entering the funnel every week.

Who We're Looking For

They are looking for A players who are excited to help scale a cleantech company that has found product-market fit. The right person can step into a proven system and run with it — there is no luxury of learning the role itself. If you don't know the EV charging or multifamily housing industry yet, that's fine; they will give you every resource you need to get up to speed on the market. What you need to bring on day one is the ability to prospect, qualify, and produce.

  • Multifamily or affordable housing experience is a plus, not a requirement.
  • Outbound sales fundamentals are a requirement, you should already be good at this.
  • You're comfortable being measured weekly, in public, against a clear number.
Role Overview

As a Sales Development Representative, you own top-of-funnel outbound: identifying, engaging, and qualifying multifamily and affordable housing developers, owners, and property managers. You are the first point of contact for prospective partners and the primary driver of new project creation.

This role is built for someone who thrives on clear goals, high activity, and measurable results and who is motivated by both performance and mission.

Key Responsibilities
  • Identify and research target accounts and key decision‑makers in multifamily and affordable housing
  • Execute high-volume outbound calling, email, and LinkedIn outreach
  • Leverage the company's internal databases, lead engine, and data tools to build targeted prospect lists
Qualification & Project Sourcing
  • Engage prospects to uncover needs, pain points, timelines, and EV readiness
  • Qualify opportunities and secure site or electrical plans so projects can move into design
  • Hand off clean, well‑documented projects to the Account Executive team
Pipeline & Performance Management
  • Maintain accurate records in HubSpot — attribution, stage, and next step current at all times
  • Track progress against weekly sourcing and activity goals
  • Manage your own pipeline to ensure consistent weekly output, not month‑end spikes
  • Work closely with Sales and Sales Ops to refine messaging, targeting, and sequences
  • Share insights on objections, customer pain points, and the competitive landscape
  • Continuously test and optimize outbound campaigns for conversion, not just volume
Success Metrics

Primary metric: source 6 qualified projects per week.

Qualified project — definition: A project counts as qualified when the client needs or wants to install EV chargers, the right decision‑makers are engaged, and they receives site or electrical plans for the property so the project can move into design. Plans received are the trigger — not a calendar invite, and not a conversation.

You will also be measured on:

  • Leveraging and improving a repeatable outbound playbook using the company's data and tools
  • Consistent weekly output rather than month‑end spikes
  • Improving outreach effectiveness and conversion rates over time
Core Competencies
  • Highly efficient with strong output and minimal wasted effort
  • Organized, disciplined, and reliable in execution
  • Persistent, proactive, and comfortable with rejection
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Tech‑savvy and confident using CRM, dialers, and AI tools
  • Analytical, detail‑oriented, and fast‑learning
  • Ethical, accountable, and follows through on commitments
Qualifications
Experience
  • 1–2 years in outbound sales, SDR, or business development
  • Experience in SaaS, cleantech, real estate, or multifamily is a plus — not required
Mindset
  • Goal‑oriented, self‑motivated, and resilient
  • Passion for sustainability and equitable EV adoption
Education
  • Bachelor's degree is desired but not required
Other
  • Must have US work authorization
Location & Schedule

This is an in‑office role, 4 days per week at our Phoenix, AZ office. Fridays are remote.

Why Join [Company]
  • Mission‑driven company with real, measurable climate impact
  • Product‑market fit already proven — you're scaling something that works, not searching for it
  • Significant role with fast‑track advancement into a full‑cycle Account Executive seat
  • A performing team that actually gets along
  • Clear performance incentives and real upside
