As part of its global growth strategy, the company is expanding into the South American market and seeking a dedicated sales leader to establish brand presence, open new accounts, and lead business development efforts across the region.
Role Overview
We are seeking a Sales Manager / Business Development Manager to serve as the exclusive, full-time regional representative taking ownership of market entry and account expansion in Brazil.
You will build direct relationships with procurement leads and technical decision-makers, conduct on-site client visits across major industrial hubs, manage local deal pipelines, and represent the brand at industry gatherings. You will work independently while coordinating closely with international leadership teams in North America.
Duties and Responsibilities
Market Expansion & Business Development
- Lead the strategic market entry and business development effort across Brazil's steel, aluminum, stainless steel, and mining sectors.
- Prospect, qualify, and build a strong pipeline of commercial accounts, focusing on steel mills, aluminum smelters, and industrial foundries.
- Conduct face-to-face sales meetings, technical presentations, and site visits across key industrial hubs (such as São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, and regional manufacturing centers).
- Translate technical product specifications into practical value propositions for procurement heads, plant managers, and metallurgical engineers.
- Negotiate commercial terms, pricing structures, volume commitments, and supply contracts to secure long‑term client accounts.
- Monitor industrial market trends, competitor activities, and raw material demand across South America to inform commercial strategy.
Pipeline Management & CRM Operations
- Manage all lead pipelines, sales activities, deal stages, and account notes systematically using HubSpot CRM and Excel.
- Establish clear follow‑up cadences for active inquiries, sample evaluations, pricing quotes, and pending supply contracts.
- Maintain organized records of client interactions, technical requirements, purchasing frequency, and decision‑maker contact details.
- Generate regular sales pipeline reports and revenue forecasts for international executive leadership.
Cross-Border Collaboration & International Integration
- Act as the direct liaison between regional clients and global production, logistics, and executive teams in North America.
- Travel internationally as required for executive onboarding, strategic alignment sessions, and company‑wide sales summits.
- Coordinate cross‑border shipping schedules, product documentation, and technical support inquiries with global operational leads.
- Maintain full accountability as the sole regional representative, upholding brand reputation and service standards.
Minimum Qualifications
- Language requirement: Native Portuguese fluency, fluent written and verbal English communication skills (Spanish is preferred/plus).
- Experience: Senior-Level (Metallurgical & Industrial Sales)
- Proven sales and business development experience within metallurgy, steel production, aluminum smelting, mining, or heavy industrial supply chain markets.
- Deep technical understanding of steelmaking, aluminum melting, foundry, or metallurgical processing logic to build immediate credibility with plant engineers and buyers.
- Practical experience managing sales pipelines within HubSpot CRM and Microsoft Excel.
- Valid passport and complete willingness to travel domestically across industrial centers and internationally for onboarding and corporate meetings.
- Exceptional self‑management, independence, and trustworthiness as a sole operator in the country.
- Strong negotiation, interpersonal, and relationship‑building capabilities.
- Availability to work 40–48 hours per week with schedule flexibility for client meetings and business travel.
