Sales Development Manager
This position is remote/virtual and can work from home but must be located within Ohio.
Job Summary:
The WinField United Sales Development Manager serves as a direct partner and coach to our customer-owner’s top 1000 retail sellers to expand their competencies and selling skills. Responsibilities include daily direct farm-gate calls in partnership with the retail seller.
Responsibilities:
- 60% Sales Generation
- Manage and grow business through a defined plan and consistent communication with assigned owners and internal teams, focusing on STAMPS, seed, and services.
- Coach and train top retail sellers at the farm-gate on products, programs, services, and technologies to influence grower decisions.
- Utilize pre-call planning tools and approach.
- Coordinate with agronomy or services experts for technical knowledge as needed.
- Record all relevant account details in CRM software (Salesforce).
- 40% Strategy Execution
- Work with top retailer sellers using tools like the Account Plan, FxF Plan, and ACRE sprints; monitor progress against plans.
- Own and be accountable for the FxF Plan and digital/services adoption.
- Communicate the total acre value proposition at the farm-gate, including brand strategies, programs, pricing, services, and digital platforms.
- Support retail sellers in Answer Plot and post-harvest meetings.
- Coordinate with local manufacturer representatives.
- Implement Account Plans and manage discretionary and insight trial seed.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in agriculture or business-related field plus 3 years of industry or direct sales experience, or 7 years of successful work experience in industry or sales.
- Ability to see the big picture of the organization and the farmer’s operation.
- Understanding of key business drivers and how they relate to profitable growth.
- Proactive communicator with excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.

- Valid driver’s license.
- Willingness to travel up to 50%, including evenings and weekends during peak seasons.
Work Environment & Compensation:
This is a sales role with a target mix of base salary plus commission. The salary range is $79,200 - $118,800, with a target bonus of $20,000. Candidates are typically hired near the middle of this range.
