ArcBest in Fort Smith, AR is seeking a Sales Coordinator - Intermodal to execute, track, and create solutions for intermodal shipments. You will work with drivers, rail carriers, and customers to ensure on-time service and accurate billing.
Ideal candidates have a Bachelor's degree (or relevant experience) and prefer intermodal operations experience; proficiency with Microsoft Office is a plus. This is an hourly, full-time role with regular business hours and occasional on-call coverage.
The Sales Coordinator - Intermodal executes, tracks, and creates solutions for intermodal shipments secured by ArcBest. This position is fast paced, demanding, and requires time management skills and concentration. The Sales Coordinator - Intermodal has a vast array of responsibilities and is exposed to all aspects of transportation, intermodal, and brokerage operations.
Coordinate with other employees, drivers, rail carriers and outside vendors to prevent potential problems and provide service to our customers.
Develop strong working relationships with customers and vendors.
Ensure that shipments are correctly rated and that all payables are posted.
Help maintain rail schedules, railroad and dray company cost, and accessorials.
Help maintain vendor profile information.
Manage customer trailer pools and movement of equipment to avoid storage or detention costs and assist in the general accountability of equipment.
Monitor freight activity and take appropriate action to resolve problems in order to ensure a high level of error free and on-time service.
Provide customer service including any special reporting or customer website compliance.
Secure and execution of dray capacity for unplanned/planed dray moves.
Work directly with ArcBest Sales and Intermodal Carrier Sales Representatives to secure shipments.
