Johnson Brothers is a leading family-owned distributor of wine, spirits, and beer in the Twin Cities area. This Sales Consultant in Training role supports accounts, stocks shelves, and builds displays, while following up after deliveries to drive sales and customer satisfaction.

The position trains new personnel who will eventually manage a sales territory, with emphasis on service, promotions, and retailer relationships. Local candidates preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience in the liquor industry (bartender, wait staff, liquor store, etc.) is a plus.
• Goal- and results-oriented mindset.
• Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and prioritize work.
• Professional written and oral communication skills are a must.
• Reliable transportation with valid insurance and a good driving record.

Responsibilities

• Travels around assigned territory to service accounts.
• Checks quantities on display and inventory levels to service accounts.
• Fills shelves from displays and back stock to minimize out-of-stock items.
• Develops and maintains relationships with customers.
• Communicates changes in buyer preferences and stock levels to Sales Consultants.
• Builds trust with retailers by upholding Johnson Brothers values and providing excellent service.
• Performs other work-related tasks and special projects as assigned.

This Sales Consultant in Training position supports, services, and maintains accounts in the Twin Cities area. The position is responsible for stocking shelves, coolers, and building displays. It will also follow up after deliveries are made, service shelves from the liquor department storage areas, and may be responsible for achieving sales objectives, territory management, selling current and new products, promotions, in-store tastings, and servicing accounts. This role is intended to train new personnel who will eventually have a sales territory.

Job Responsibilities

• Travels around assigned territory to service accounts
• Checks quantities of goods on display, cold box placements, and inventory levels to service the accounts
• Fills shelves from displays and back stock to ensure out of stock items are minimized
• Develops and maintains relationships with customers
• Communicates with Sales Consultants regarding changes in buyer’s preferences, out of stock inventory, oversight in shelf space and any concerns or situations encountered during business hours
• Builds and develops trust and a strong working relationship with the retailer by upholding Johnson Brothers corporate values, providing excellent customer service and a can-do attitude
• Performs other work-related tasks and special projects as assigned

Job Requirements

• Experience in the liquor industry such as bartender, wait staff, liquor store experience, etc. (a plus)
• Goal and results oriented
• Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and prioritize work
• Competitive, self-motivated, and customer service oriented
• Professional written and oral communication skills are a must
• Reliable transportation with valid insurance
• Good driving record
• Ability to lift to 50-pound cases, sometimes repeatedly
• Local candidates preferred (no relocation package)

The expected pay for this role is $21.63/hr. Pay is based on several factors including, but not limited to, labor markets, education, experience, and certifications.
