As a Sales Consultant in Floorcovering, you’ll drive results by building strong customer relationships, presenting tailored solutions, and executing strategic sales plans. You’ll assist customers with product selection, create accurate price quotations and work orders, and ensure successful installations through project site visits and follow-ups. This role demands strong interpersonal, leadership, and business skills to grow market share and deliver exceptional customer experiences.

The individual selected for this role will be expected to work at Store #721156, located at: 11010 Emmet St, Omaha, NE 68164.

Job duties involve contact with customers, which may include minors; and access to cash and other payment methods, electronic equipment, personal information, store merchandise and other items of value, and such access may be supervised or unsupervised. The Company therefore has determined that a review of criminal history is necessary to protect the business and its operations and reputation and is necessary to protect the safety of the Company’s customers, staff, employees, vendors, contractors, and the general public.

Responsibilities
  • Collect reliable/accurate customer/project information to accurately access needs.
  • Assist customers with product selections by considering fitness for use, design components, and performance expectations.
  • Identify all necessary products and associated labor to assemble accurate price quotations, build thorough work orders, and result in successful installations, completed in accordance with customer expectations and manufacturer specifications.
  • Provide customer design assistance as necessary (in-store or on project site).
  • Conduct project/customer visits as necessary to complete work, gather information (measurements and relevant project conditions), and appropriately follow up to ensure quality of installation and customer satisfaction.
  • Utilize the FC Hub Applications to record customer information, project information and build detailed customer price quotations.
  • Effectively utilize the stores Point of Sales System to create accurate work orders, effectively schedule work and appropriately invoice customers.
  • Conduct competitive product comparisons and identify current competitors’ strengths and weaknesses and S-W / Carpet Land competitive advantages.
  • Complete and present a territory SherPlan, make revisions and updates, as necessary, throughout the year.
  • Develop a strategy to grow sales & profits to include (follow up on existing customer inquiries/quotations, reconnecting owners/clients of past installations, and supporting the facilities selling/marketing initiatives (to include partnering with outside sales reps).
  • Maintain a discipline in planning daily and weekly activity to ensure time is maximized and sales strategies are executed.
Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the country of employment without needing sponsorship for employment work visa status now or in the future
  • Must have a valid, unrestricted Driver’s License
  • Must have at least a High School diploma or GED
  • Must be able, with or without reasonable accommodation, to retrieve material from shelves and floor stacks and lift and carry up to 50 lbs. frequently and up to 100 lbs. on occasion
  • Be able to operate a computer and communicate via the telephone, with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Operate material handling equipment (e.g. hand truck, pallet jack, forklift, etc.) safely once trained, with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Operate floor cutting equipment safely once trained, with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Must be willing to work all scheduled hours, which may include evenings and weekends, with or without reasonable accommodation
Preferred Requirements
  • Have at least one (1) year experience working in a delivery, retail, or customer service position
  • Have previous work experience selling floorcovering and/or floorcovering products
  • Have prior work experience operating floorcovering cutting equipment
  • Have previous work experience installing floorcovering
  • Have the Carpet and Vinyl Installation Certification by the Carpet and Rug Institute
  • Ability to read, write, comprehend, and communicate in more than one language
  • Ability to read, write, comprehend, and communicate in Spanish
