Sales / Business Development Consultant (Independent Contractor Position)

Location: Remote (Houston, TX Preferred)

We are building a high-performance sales team, and we are looking for a proactive, motivated Sales / Business Development Consultant to join us as one of the first hires on our growth journey.

This role is ideal for someone who loves outbound prospecting, can initiate meaningful conversations, and thrives in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment. You will be responsible for finding leads, nurturing them, and handing them off to the closer (our founder). Key Responsibilities

  • Lead Generation & Outreach: Source, research, and identify qualified leads using in-person networking events and digital platforms. Attend intentional and aligned industry-specific association, organization, and networking events.
  • Pipeline Development: Strategically build targeted lead lists aligned with our ideal client profile using proactive prospecting techniques. Qualify leads using key criteria (budget, authority, need, timing, etc.).
  • Sales Conversations: Initiate daily conversations, understand client needs, and position our leadership development programs, courses, and consulting services as tailored solutions.
  • Consultative & Ethics-Based Selling: Apply a consultative approach to educate clients on our core services and the measurable impact we deliver, while maintaining integrity and ethics.
  • Closing Sales: Lead sales conversations through to close or near close, preparing proposals and collaborating with leadership as needed. Handle early objections, articulate the value of our services, and facilitate smooth transitions to the CEO for final negotiations when necessary.
  • Collaboration: Partner with the CEO, leadership team, and branding team to align sales efforts with our strategic growth goals. Collaborate weekly with leadership to refine messaging, targeting, and pipeline strategy.
  • Market Insights: Stay informed about industry trends and client challenges to position our services effectively.
  • Performance & Reporting: Track sales activity, key metrics (leads generated, pipeline management, appointments set, follow-ups, deals closed, etc.), and results, providing regular performance updates.
  • CRM Management: Maintain up-to-date records of all interactions, next steps, and key contact information within our system to ensure smooth handoffs and visibility.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: 3+ years in B2B sales, consulting, or professional services, ideally within HR, learning & development, or organizational consulting.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field. (Experience can replace a degree if you’ve got proven results!)

Skills:

  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal) with the ability to craft compelling and insightful outreach messages.
  • Proven success in generating leads and driving measurable sales outcomes.
  • Comfortable in a startup-style, builder role where processes are being developed.
  • Strong intrapersonal and relationship-building abilities.
  • Comfort with consultative, ethical, and value-based selling.
  • Self-starter, ability to work independently, and prioritize effectively. Highly organized, self-motivated, and proactive.
  • Familiarity with CRM tools (experience with Go High Level is a plus).

Compensation Structure (Performance-Based with Ramp-Up Support)

This is a 1099 Independent Contractor Role—ideal for entrepreneurial-minded sales professionals who thrive on performance-based income.To support you in the initial 90 days, we are offering a hybrid compensation model:

  • Base Salary - 90-Day Ramp-Up Support:
  • $2,500/month for the first 90 days, providing a support foundation while you build your pipeline, meet the monthly KPIs, targets, and close deals.
  • Commission Based Earnings Going Forward:
  • 7%–12% commission on closed deals sourced from your leads.
  • On-Target Earnings (OTE): $75,000–$100,000+
  • Quarterly Bonus: For exceeding monthly goals or helping close high-value clients.
  • The more you drive, the more you earn,there is no cap on your potential.
