Job summary

Scherer Bros. Lumber Co. is seeking a Sales Center Representative/Sales Associate for the Hopkins location.

You will assist customers in selecting building materials, provide product advice, and help process orders and payments from a retail showroom and yard environment. The role requires strong customer service, basic blueprint reading, and the ability to manage material estimates and vendor communications.

Qualifications

• Customer service and sales experience in lumber/building materials preferred.
• Knowledge of building materials and methods recommended.
• Ability to read basic blueprints and interpret material requirements.

Responsibilities

• Assist walk-in and telephone customers with product selection and purchases.
• Enter material lists and estimates into computer systems.
• Process customer payments and upsell services where appropriate.
• Place special orders and coordinate with vendors and dispatch for delivery.
• Maintain showroom displays and update literature and brochures.
• Attend to safety and wellness practices in the workplace.
