Job summary

prAna, a brand within the Columbia Sportswear family, opens a new Burlingame store and seeks a Sales Associate. You will deliver friendly, knowledgeable service, greet guests, and drive store sales while upholding brand standards and a welcoming environment.

You will learn the product line, assist with inventory, handle exchanges and returns, and participate in merchandising to enhance the customer experience. A passion for outdoor activity is valuable.

Qualifications

• Retail sales or customer service experience in specialty retail is a plus.
• Passion for outdoor activities aligned with prAna's California lifestyle.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; 18 years or older.

Responsibilities

• Provide helpful, friendly service in person, over the phone, or digitally.
• Greet guests and create a engaging shopping experience.
• Assist guests with merchandise and make product recommendations to maximize sales.
• Process exchanges, returns, and in-store purchases; operate the POS system.
• Develop product knowledge and educate customers on apparel and accessories.
• Support inventory counts, order processing, and stockroom organization.
• Assist with merchandising, floor resets, and visual directives.

Overview Of The Position

The Sales Associate plays a vital role in our retail team, assisting store leadership in creating exceptional brand and guest experiences, driving store sales, and fostering a welcoming environment. They follow prAna's marketing and promotional strategies to increase sales and grow our customer base while maintaining high store standards. Strong communication with management and teammates is key to success in this role.

Essential Functions And Responsibilities

• Provide helpful, knowledgeable, and friendly service in person, over the phone, or through digital channels, following prAna’s service standards.
• Greet guests warmly and create an engaging, educational shopping experience.
• Assist guests in finding merchandise and make thoughtful product recommendations to enhance their experience and maximize store sales.
• Handle special orders, exchanges, returns, and in-store purchases from prAna.com.
• Accurately and efficiently process sales transactions using the prAna POS system.
• Develop expertise in the prAna product line through training and enthusiastically educate customers about our apparel and accessories.
• Support inventory cycle counts, order processing, and stockroom organization.
• Help maintain a clean and organized store by assisting with regular tasks such as cleaning windows, sweeping floors, and dusting surfaces.
• Follow inventory control and loss prevention procedures.
• Contribute to merchandising, floor resets, and visual directives to enhance the customer experience.
• Always adhere to all safety and security protocols.
• Share ideas and input for store and region-specific events that amplify prAna’s voice in the outdoor world.

Education, Experience And Time Requirements

• Retail sales or customer service experience in specialty retail, activewear, or outdoor apparel is a plus.
• Passion for outdoor activities, especially those that reflect the prAna brand’s focus on an active California lifestyle - such as hiking, climbing and yoga - while embracing all forms of outdoor adventure.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Flexible availability to adapt to changing business needs and schedules.

Hiring Range: $18.00 - $19.00
