Job summary

Zimmer Biomet, a global medical technology leader, seeks a field-based sales support specialist to consult on orthopedic procedures and maintain expert product knowledge. You will report to the RSD/RSM or Sales Team Leader within a defined territory and travel up to 50% to support surgeons and OR teams.

You will build strong relationships with key surgeons, coordinate implants and instruments, ensure proper billing and inventory, and provide after-hours coverage as needed.

Responsibilities

• Builds strong relationships with key surgeons and covers main product segment procedures with clinical proficiency.
• During procedures, informs surgeons and OR staff on proper use and maintenance of Zimmer Biomet products.
• Coordinates surgery schedule and templates cases based on expertise and product knowledge.
• Plans, coordinates and ensures implants and instruments are ready before cases.
• Post procedure, ensures Zimmer Biomet products are billed and inventory replenished.
• Collaborates with team for sales support and knowledge sharing.

What You Can Expect

This position will utilize communication skills, knowledge of Zimmer Biomet products, and in-person meetings to assist current customers and secure potential customers. This position is responsible for maintaining expert knowledge of the Zimmer Biomet portfolio in order to consult on procedures. This position reports to the RSD, RSM or Sales Team Leader within a defined territory or region.

How You'll Create Impact

• Builds strong relationships with key surgeons and continue to build knowledge and expertise to cover main products segment procedures with clinical proficiency.
• During procedures, uses product knowledge to solve problems and inform surgeons and OR staff on the proper use and maintenance of Zimmer Biomet products.
• Coordinates surgery schedule including templating for cases based on expertise and product knowledge.
• Plans, coordinates and ensures all implants and instruments are in place prior to case.
• Requests implants and instruments necessary to cover designated surgeries through SMS.
• Post procedure, ensures all Zimmer Biomet products used are properly accounted for billing and inventory replenishment.
• Reports on competitor and customer activities in the field.
• Strictly adheres to all policies and SOPs regarding the interaction with HCP (Health Care Professionals), product handling and complaints, expense reporting, sales activities and training.
• Supports Zimmer Biomet sales by sharing knowledge, ideas and references.
• Develops relationships with internal support personnel.
• Provides after hour and/or evening case coverage and add on case coverage for team and/or territory. Includes weekend and on-call case coverage and add on case coverage for team and/or territory.
• Collaborate with and provide sales support for team and/or territory, which includes the transportation of Zimmer Biomet instruments and implants for day, evening, add on or weekend cases

Your Background

• Minimum of 0-2 year’s sales or sales service experience in medical device, surgical.
• Minimum of an Associates degree, medical certification or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Expected Compensation Range: $60,000 - $70,000
