Goodwill of Greater Washington seeks a customer-focused Retail Sales Associate in Gaithersburg, MD. You will help customers, operate registers, and keep merchandise neatly displayed while delivering friendly service.

Qualifications

• Ability to effectively communicate with customers and GGW associates.
• Provide exceptional customer service to all customers.
• Resolve customer complaints.
• Perform basic math.
• Stand for prolonged periods (up to 7 hours per 8-hour shift).
• Bend and lift up to 40 pounds frequently.
• Basic working knowledge of computer applications and the internet.

Responsibilities

• Provides professional and courteous service to all customers inside the store, outside of the store, and on the phone.
• Assures merchandise is placed on the sales floor in a timely manner
• Able to ensure items are rung accurately on the register
• Demonstrates accurate cash handling skill to include making change and operating register and card machines
• Maintains knowledge of merchandise and answers customer questions courteously and promptly
• Keeps floor merchandise neat and orderly and assists customers with purchase selections
• Maintains clean professional appearance
• Maintain an orderly and clean register area
• Maintain familiarity with store security procedures and exercise security practices when necessary
• Perform general housekeeping responsibilities including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, wiping shelves, dusting
• Perform other duties as assigned by management

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Other Duties and Responsibilities:

• 1. Maintain an orderly and clean register area
• 3. Maintain familiarity with store security procedures and exercise security practices when necessary
• 4. Perform general housekeeping responsibilities to include: store upkeep duties as needed to include sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, wiping shelves, and dusting (including restrooms and dressing rooms)
• 5. Perform other duties as assigned by management

• 2. High School Diploma or equivalent
• 3. Previous experience working in a retail environment

• 5. Working knowledge of a cash register
• 6. Multilingual with complete fluency in English
