Job summary

Olson Oil Co. is seeking a Sales Associate to deliver friendly, professional customer service and support daily store operations in Sioux Falls. You will handle transactions, assist customers, stock displays, and ensure cleanliness and safety across both interior and exterior areas.

The role requires strong communication, reliability, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. Evening, weekend, holiday, and overnight shifts may be required.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous retail experience preferred, but not required.
• Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively with customers, employees, vendors, and management; read, write, speak, and understand English.
• Ability to perform basic math calculations, make correct change, and complete shift reports.

• Stock shelves, coolers, and displays both inside and outside the store.
• Follow food preparation and sanitation guidelines; operate food service equipment; monitor safe food temperatures and record waste as required.
• Adhere to all safety procedures, including fuel dispensing safety standards.
• Ability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and overnight shifts as scheduled.

• Ability to bend, kneel, stoop, squat, reach, and perform overhead reaching as needed.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods (up to 8-10 hours) on concrete or tile surfaces.
• Ability to sweep, mop, and maintain interior and exterior store areas and equipment, including snow removal.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Availability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and overnight shifts as scheduled.
• Ability to work in freezers and coolers (approximately 10°F) for up to 30 minutes at a time.
• Ability to tolerate exposure to gasoline fumes and cleaning products.
