Goodwill of Greater Washington is seeking a Sales Associate to be the face of our retail operations, delivering exceptional customer service and maintaining a clean, organized store. You will handle sales transactions, assist customers with selections, and support visual merchandising while upholding security and household duties.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Provide professional and courteous service to customers inside the store, outside the store, and on the phone.
• Ensure merchandise is placed on the sales floor in a timely manner.
• Rung items accurately on the register.
• Demonstrate accurate cash handling skill including change, register, card machine, and calculator.
• Maintain knowledge of merchandise and answer customer questions promptly.
• Keep floor merchandise neat and assist customers with selections.
• Maintain a clean professional appearance.
• Maintain orderly register area and follow store security procedures.
• Perform housekeeping duties including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and restrooms/dressing rooms.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Provides professional and courteous service to all customers inside the store, outside of the store, and on the phone.2. Assures merchandise is placed on the sales floor in a timely manner3. Able to ensure items are rung accurately on the register4. Demonstrates accurate cash handling skill to include but is not limited to making change, operate and maintain the cash register, check and charge card machine, and use of a calculator 5. Maintains knowledge of merchandise and answers customer’s questions courteously and promptly6. Keeps floor merchandise neat and orderly (racks, shelves, bins, and hangers) and assists customers with purchase selections. 7. Maintains clean professional appearance

Other Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Maintain an orderly and clean register area 3. Maintain familiarity with store security procedures and exercise security practices when necessary4. Perform general housekeeping responsibilities to include: store upkeep duties as needed to include sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, wiping shelves, and dusting (including restrooms and dressing rooms) 5. Perform other duties as assigned by management
