Job Description
Position Overview
The Sales Associate is responsible for sales generation and delivering a positive customer experience. The Sales Associate will also handle a variety of operational duties as assigned by the store management team (e.g., housekeeping duties, visual presentation standards, etc.).
Reports To: Store Management
Essential Functions
Customer Experience
- Greeting Customers: Greet customers immediately upon entering the store with a smile and sincere, non-business-like greeting.
- First Impressions: Create a positive first impression through an energetic attitude and adherence to dress code.
- Store Standards: Maintain a clean and organized environment by adhering to store standards and cleanliness.
- Product Information: Provide customers with current relevant information about products.
- Fitting Room Service: Offer quality service, follow up promptly, maintain cash wrap cleanliness, and suggest additional sales.
- Cash Wrap Efficiency: Serve efficiently at the cash wrap, offer Gift Cards, keep the area clean, and capture customer information in the database.
- Customer Appreciation: Thank customers sincerely as they exit the store.
Cooperation & Dependability
- Task Completion: Complete all duties as assigned by management.
- Punctuality: Be punctual and adhere to the work schedule.
- Teamwork: Collaborate well with peers and management.
- Policy Adherence: Follow GUESS Policies and Procedures fully.
- Housekeeping: Perform housekeeping duties as needed.
Personal Performance
- Sales Goals: Meet or exceed sales per hour targets as assigned.
Additional Responsibilities
- Meetings and Functions: Attend all store meetings and related events.
- Positive Attitude: Maintain a positive attitude toward merchandise and the company.
- Inventory Participation: Take part in all inventories.
- Other Duties: Complete additional duties as assigned.
- Physical Requirements: Capable of heavy lifting (>30 pounds) and standing for at least eight hours.
Job Requirements
- Customer Service Skills: Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Retail Experience: Previous retail experience preferred.
- Team Player: Ability to work well in a team environment.
- Flexible Schedule: Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to walk, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, and balance regularly.
