Job summary

Norman’s Gift Shops, Inc. is seeking a part-time Sales Associate for our Ocean Heights Plaza location in Somers Point, NJ. The role focuses on delivering a caring, memorable customer experience and meeting store goals.

You will be the primary resource on the sales floor, staying knowledgeable about merchandise, assisting customers, and supporting a team-driven environment. Flexible hours include evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

• Must be 16 years of age or older.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including holidays, evenings, and weekends.
• Strong aptitude for basic math functions including percentages.
• Ability to continuously stand/walk; frequently push/pull; occasionally bend/stoop/crawl/reach above shoulders/kneel; lift up to 40 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Infuse our Customer CARE program into the store culture to drive retail sales and genuinely connect with customers.
• Learn and utilize product knowledge for all merchandise to enhance selling.
• Maintain and restock displays as directed by store management.
• Learn and use the register system to ensure a pleasant POS experience and cash register accuracy.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

• Ability to learn and be efficient with our register system to ensure a pleasant point of sale experience for our customers. Accountable for cash register accuracy and basic mathematical skills.
• Learn and utilize outstanding selling skills during customer interactions to build sales and drive customer satisfaction.
• Proactively learn retail product knowledge for all merchandise to use when selling to the customer.
• Maintain and restock displays as directed by store management.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
