Sales Associate
FLSA Status: Part-time, Non-exempt
Reports to: Sr. Retail & Hospitality Manager
Location: Rutherford Hill Winery – Napa, CA

Position Summary:
The Sales Associate position is responsible for providing guests of Rutherford Hill Winery top of class hospitality and customer service. This position ensures each guest has a memorable and exceptional winery experience, where the focus is on the brand story, customer service, wines education and sales, and wine club sign ups. This position will support all management initiatives by the Sr. Retail & Hospitality Manager, Hospitality Manager and Wine Club Manager.

  3. Ability to anticipate guest’s needs and provide exceptional service
  4. Sales ability and awareness of sales goals

  6. Dependability (timeliness) and attention to detail (ability to perform duties as delegated by manager)

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Provide guests with a memorable and exceptional experience. This includes:
    1. Educating guests about Rutherford Hill’s history, and describing wines and winemaking techniques
    2. Developing and cultivating ongoing relationships with guests and wine club members to encourage repeat visits, referrals and future sales
    3. Hosting an engaging tasting with exceptional customer service and hospitality as the foundation
    4. Setting up and conducting general and private tours and tastings for trade partners, VIPs or club members
  2. Promote and sell Rutherford Hill wines, the Wine Club and merchandise.
  3. Assist with daily business functions, including opening and closing procedures, wine and non-wine inventory, and restocking.
  4. Handle cash and credit card transactions through the point of sale system.
  5. Cross-training opportunities for wine education at Chimney Rock Winery.

Professional Qualifications:

  1. Proficient in CRM, Internet, Point of Sale
  2. Prior tasting room, event, restaurant or other sales (hospitality focused) experience
  3. Self-starter, clear communicator, positive team player, multi-tasker
  4. Wine knowledgeable, and effective sales person
  5. Must be at least 21 years in age
  6. Ability to lift up to 50lb
  7. Ability to work weekends and holidays
